If you outlaw guns, only the outlaws will have guns.

Criminals are crimnals because they clearly dont obey laws. So why would a law on gun ownership be any different to them. Guns would go on the black market, and more people woiuld get involved dealing arms, because its easy money.

Law-abiding citizens couldnt protect themselves. Think if someone else at that school had a gun, they could have killed that dumbass ASAP.

If someone comes into your house in the middle of the night, trys to harm your wife, your mom, your brother, your sister etc... and he had a gun, what are you gonna do? Im sure a bat will do wonders against a gun.

The reason accidents happen with guns, is because parents dont educate their children on how to use them, what they can do, and parents dont lock them up properly.

If everyone was taught proper gun care and control, and everyone had a gun, crime rates would be extremely low. If you were planning on robbing a store, just think how many guns would be pointed at you instantly.

Yup, it still would have happened. The incident at Virginia Tech isn't really a gun control issue. The problem was with a very disturbed individual, and if he hadn't had a gun he would have used something else. One of the papers he wrote in school was about using a chainsaw.

Yep, only the outlaws would have the guns. What if you could carry one without a concealed weapons permit? How many would have been armed in those classes and taken care of that clown so the tragedy could have been a lot less?

Yes. Guns won't magically disappear just because they are made illegal. Worse than what happened at VT is what happens in Israel with suicide bombers.

There are more ways to slaughter people than weapons that use explosives to kill or maim.

That monster could have also driven a car into a crowded area like was done in North Carolina and Washington DC

If guns were outlawed 10 years ago, the crazy basturd would have used a truck, or van, or 2x4 to kill those people. And thats not a tragedy cause we dont have the brady bunch and their ilk to rouse the rabble.

Also, if 10 years ago it become law that students could carry firearms it would not have happened...someone legally carrying a firearm would have protected themselves and others.

Yes. Just like we outlawed drinking during prohibition, people still drank. We outlawed crack and people still are addicted. Outlawing guns would have/and won't solve any problems. There are sicko's every where who will find some way to do what they want to do.

Some guy just killed 14 people in the Philippines with a machete. Another guy killed 10 people in Britain with a gun, and they have outlawed guns for decades upon decades...your answer is yes.

Yup, only it would have been messier, because he would have had to use a different weapon. Its not the guns that are the problem, but all the mentally unstable people that are being born in todays world. Maybe it has something to do with parents being 60 when having them, and letting them get away with murder, and coddling them instead of making the deal with emotions, and just get over sh*t. Or maybe its the pesticides.

Yes. I don't believe the guns made the poor guy mentally ill. He had problems and was overwhelmed. In such cases, if a person has a mindset to do something, what's legal just doesn't come into play.

Just look at Mexico.

Only the criminals and the cops (which in most instances are no better than the criminals) have guns.

The citizens have no way of protecting themselves from either element.

And banning guns did nothing to stop the criminals from getting them.
