Because it's not truly "free" most places you have to sign up for something then it'll be free. But that's not really free, is it?

I don't know of a place that gives you free credit score, but just reports.

Because they're not free ? Most of those advertisements are for a LIMITED time free credit score checking service. However, you end up with a one year contract for about $80.

You ARE entitled to one free credit report on yourself annually from each of the three major credit reporting firms.

for free credit report that dont ask for that info go to www.annualcreditreport.com,you can gwt one from each company there once a year
