Mohammed is supposedly a greater prophet than Christ(nevermind that Christ was much more than a prophet), yet Mohammed never performed a miracle...never raised himself from the grave(I know--Islam teaches that Christ didn't die...) and was chastised by Allah for disobedience...Yet Christ performed miracles, raised himself from the grave, and was totally without sin.
If Allah is the greatest prophet because he was chronologically the last prophet, does that make Micah a greater prophet than Isaiah? Or Joel a greater prophet than Moses?
And If Christ came to teach the Jews about compassion and faith, and to lead them away from legalism (which is what Islam teaches He did), and the Jews are cursed for not following His message, why did Allah then send Mohammed to teach a religion of legalism and to spread it at the point of a sword?
I am not looking for smart-aleck answers. Please don't respond with simple statements of faith... I am looking for a well reasoned response.

No smart-aleck answer for you - but you should really get your facts straight about the history before you write. Islam was not spread by the sword as many people tend to believe.
Secondly, Muslims believe that Muhammad was no greater than any other prophet - including Jesus, Abraham, etc. Every prophet is at the same status. There were special things about each one of them. Muhammad did perform miracles which Allah gave Him the power to do - some of them here:
Splitting of the Moon
Praying for and receiving rain,
Springing forth of water from the fingers of the Prophet,
Well of water in Hudayba
Trees sending their greetings upon him,
Spitting in the eyes of `Ali and healing him
Healing the blind man
Throwing sand on his enemies to make them goto sleep
Traveling with invisibility in the Hijra
The spider web on he and Abu Bakr’s cave
The sand storm in the Battle of Badr for their victory
Isra wal Mi`raj
He did not die after eating poison
Ibn Qutayba’s death on youth
`Umar ibn Khattab becomes Muslim
Fatima never gets hungry

Salam, I can simply answer your question by yes :).. I'll mention some of his miracles which weren't done by his effort only because he is a prophet of God, human, and not a God, but by God's will, the prophet was able to perform miracles. First, Water from his fingers for Sahaba and followers to wash before praying. Once they wanted to wash their hands and you know they lived in the middle of the desert, so water got out of his fingers and they did wash before praying out of this water. Second, a miracle which the NASA knew off in the 1960s .. the moon split. A bunch of Kuraysh ppl once stood in front of the prophet and asked him to prove himself and show that he is the prophet of God .. Mohammad(pbuh) prayed to God and asked for his help in such a situation.. God asked him to point his finger to the moon and the moon was suddenly split into halves. Kuraysh ppl said nice Mohammad u have a good magician .and said we will wait for others who werent here and ask them if they noticed anything weird in their travelling. When travellors got back from travelling in the desert they immediately asked if anyone saw the moon go in halves and in that time a group believed Mohammad(pbuh) and other group didnt and the verse came down referring to this 1400 years ago : he Hour has approached, and the moon split. But whenever they see a sign, they turn away and say, ‘This is evident magic’. (al-Qamar, 54.1-2) Third, once prophet Mohammad was giving his khotba ( religious speech ) infront of a muslim group, he leaned on a palm tree and due to the amazing words of the God in the Quran, the group cried of happiness and the palm tree cried and water droplets fell off and the prophet put his hand on the tree to calm it down. hehe and 1 more miracle .. He surely did piss off ppl till now because he is the right prophet along with Jesus, Moses, david, Abraham ... Traveler < - - Did you know that the NASA said in the 1960s that the moon has been split? yet the Quran mentioned this 1400 years ago? I dont think that islam rules the NASA? Second, if he wrote the quran :) then how come all the prophecies in the Quran are happening??? Fingerprint? Womb? Mountains? Planets? 7 layers in the sky? Lowest Point on earth? The Skin and sensing organ? Nerve System .. All this .. dont you see Jesus telling you that when the comforter will come he will lead you to all the truth :) For those making fun of him marrying a 9 years old girl or whatever you guys are saying .. Remember What David Did, What Solomon did and what other prophets of God did .. Solomon had 1000 wife and David did adultery without even marrying the girl, but you mentioned it, Mohammad married a 9 years old girl. im glad u put the " married " part. Salam.

Muslim and ET gave good answers to your mischievious questions.
The one question they did not answer is the myth that Islam was spread by the sword.
If this is true than how does one explain the spread of Islam in countries such as Indonesia which has the highest number of Muslims in any country. No caliph nor Mohammed (peace be upon him) was ever there. How about China, or for that matter how about USA which now has more Muslims than Jews.
Lastly, Muslims believe in Jesus (peace be upon him), it is a prerequisite to being a Muslim. I don't understand your point in asking such juvenile questions, akin to 'my prophet is better than yours.' Like I said before, Muslims believe in all the prophets of God.

It was not the Islamic people who killed people who would not turn to Catholicism.. Church bought darkages to the world and have you ever read what Luther said when he started Lutheran church? I would not repeat it here but just read a history text book..

The reason that Muhummad is known as the greatest prophet is becasue unlike Christ, Muhummad had fought in battle and was a leader of a people. Christ did preform miracles and Muhummad did not. I assume that you are referring to the top most influential people in the world and Muhummad is top on the list. The reason is becasue Muhummad was a political leader as well as religious and for that he stood out more in history. The guy that wrote the list himself thought that Christ should be first, but said that he could not put him in first place due to the leadership of Muhummad.

umm all of Jesus' miracles came through God.
and Mohamed's miracle was the quran.
i know shocking (sarcastic)

Muhammad (pbuh) was not the greatest Prophet, he was just the last Prophet. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is mentioned less in the Quran than the other Prophets (pbut). A better question is if Muhammad (pbuh) wrote the Quran himself, why did he chastise himself and make himself seem imperfect?
