Well, from my experience, Norton and Active Virus Shield are the best. Spyware doctor and Spybot Search and Destroy are both bull****! They don't remove hardly any viruses and their real time protection sucks. I would highly recommend AVG antispyware (fast scanning and real time protection.) Panda antivirus is also bull. Once a computer is infected with a trojan, Panda can't help you. In my opinion, Active Virus Shield is best( even better than Norton). It doesn't take up a lot of disk space and is rated #1 for a reason. AND ITS FREE!!!!! Never tried Avast, but i hear its good also.

lol well, you sort of answered your own question, but from my experience, I believe that AVG is the best anti virus around and would recommend it to anyone who needs a secure and trustworthy anti virus. One of my friends also told me that BitDefender is good for newbies, but I've never tried it, so I can't really say much about it.

the very best program I have found is Trend Micro PCCillin. The trial version is the full version and works perfectly and flawlessly. The only slight conflict is when gaming, sometimes the automatic updates run and interrupt the game. I backup, fdisk, format, reinstall my OS evry 30 days to keep getting the trial free. Hey, I got 5 computers running and putting one offline for 12 hours every month to ensure a fast and clean computer is no big deal. Plus, knowing how to do that and staying fresh with it gives you quite a bit of experience installing OS's and software. This has made me somewhat of a software installation expert, in my opinion. Norton anything is the worst product on the market. It is the most difficult to use and interrupts you with almost every keystroke with a question. For crying out lout, if I type it in the box and hit enter, yes it is what I wanted to do and I don't need me to confirm this three different ways and restart my computer to put it into effect. Norton will bug you to the point of wanting to just shoot the computer. Do yourself a favor and try the Trend Micro program http://www.trendmicro.com/ or http://www.pcworld.com/downloads or http://www.download.com and find the free trials at Trend Micro.

By culture the Chinese are very secret just about everything and that includes their software.

This antivirus program out of Beijing, China that is also used by the Government of China.

This antivirus program does not have the Govt. permission to be rated with all other known antivirus programs.

What I can assure you is that you pay only a one time fee for life that will include all auto updates, and all new versions for life. The Chinese don't believe in having to pay an annual fee for updates or new versions.

I can tell you their technology is light years ahead of any other known antivirus software out there.

If you open a webpage and there is a hidden virus it will clean in realtime. Anything that you download and has even a trace code, it will kill the download and ask you to upload the trace code for investigation. In real time the upload will tell you if it is clean or not.

Will not allow you download, Real Player, because there is a hidden file that is a trojan keylogger. The file was uploaded and traced back to the United States Army, Intelligence Services out of London, England. (Removal of the file Real Player will reject the installation).

Read for yourself at their webpage. I have never had one virus in ten plus years. Plus it will catch any progam with it's dynamic defense system, for software that you download and it does not have a publisher or lic., included.

If you have got multiple Anti-virus going for walks that is in which the problems come to be obtrusive. Good suggestions could be one million: Anti-undercover agent-ware program (Spy-bot seek and ruin) two: Anti-Ad-ware program (Ad-ware SE) three: Anti-Virus Software (Avast Home Free version or AVG, I listen well matters approximately CLAM anti-virus additionally however have not begun to self scan it.
