i am a christian. Actually I do. God tests his children all the time o make them stronger. He uses things that might not make sense at the time or seems hard to teach us in some ways or to give us a testimony to help others through problems. Because if we go around saying God is good and he is always there and stuff when we haven't been through trials then those words have no power but after we have been out through something like that and we an still stand by God's grace and say the Lord is good those words have power.

It is obvious that you do not have a personal relationship with God. If you did, you could have easily answered your own question. God does not cause bad things....and I might add, He does not cause ALL good things either. People who claim either are not fully aware of who and what He is...or of his character. Their faith is based on a "religious teaching" rather than on a personal knowledge.
God has worked many miracles in my own life. I mean things that COULD NOT have occurred in the natural course of things. But, I have also been helped by good friends and a wonderful family.

Free will means He doesn't interfere with our daily lives. If He intervened everytime something bad happened, it wouldn't be free will, would it? If He stopped every murderer, child molester and rapist, how could we call that free will? Bad things happen because we're idiots. Sometimes, He does actually intervene, and this is when the miracle occurs. During end times, there will be many bad things, and He will make those things happen, to get our attention, such as earthquakes, hurricanes, plagues, etc.. Unfortunately, most of us will simply be too stupid to get it.

I think Terry Pratchett says it best:
"When someone is saved from certain death by a strange concatenation of circumstances, they say that's a miracle. But of course, if someone is killed by a freak chain of events — the oil spill just there, the safety fence broken just there — that must also be a miracle. Just because it's not nice doesn't mean it's not miraculous. "

This is why it's important for Christians to read the whole Bible. Job is a great example of God allowing something bad to happen to a good person.
God is the one who said, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil." (Job 1:8)
Job, when confronted by his wife after disaster struck replied, "Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" (Job 2:10)
So, God allows both to happen.
