It was so painful that even when I would take deep breaths, my chest would really hurt. I dont know what could have caused it. I've had this pain once again....about couple of months ago. The pain is so bad that I can hardly move. The pain also starts in my chest and expand to my back. I wonder what could be causing it. Any ideas?

You should see a Dr. just in case. But I have had some surpisingly bad pain from acid reflux. It hurt in my chest and radiated to my back. It hurt so bad I couldn't sleep. It didn't feel like heartburn. It just hurt like hell. I went to my Dr. and she ran a bunch of test just to be safe then gave me this nasty medicine to drink, it numbed my esophagus and the pain went away. I had to take some reflux medicine for a couple days, but that was it and it was gone.

I had a similar problem a while ago. It happened to me after I felt a pop in my chest while stretching. The only explanation I can come up with is that it's a muscle problem. You may have a problem with your pectoralis muscle, or any of the other muscles near your upper body.

One possibility is a condition called costochondritis (an inflammation of the cartilage around the ribcage) but the only way to know for sure is to have this evaluated by your dr to see what they think is going on.
