theres an improved valve seal for the trucks - have someone reseal it if it bothers you but GM considers it a normal condition.

Well if it's definately smoke and not just exhaust you have to take it to the shop, it could be burning oil. I mean there are a number of things that could cause this, go get it checked out before you keep driving it around like that and end up making the problem worse, or even killing the car!

I'm not sure i know what your problem is, but one piece of advice that is very helpful, start with the cheapest thing. If you cant decide if the problem is between two or more things, check the cheapest thing first. Most times it will fix your problem and will save you time, money, and aggravation. I might start out by checking filters (fuel, air) things like that. Then move up to more expensive things like oil leaks and such. I hope you find your problem is a cheap fix.

If the smoke is white... engine coolant is getting into the cylinders (probably blown head gasket/ cracked head). If smoke is blue (dark) oil is getting into the cylinders via bad rings (on the pistons)... There are a lot of other potential situations but these seem to be the most common ones I have experienced.

if it is light blue or gray it is oil burning, try using a heavier weight oil, but sooner or later your engine will have to be rebuilt. if it is white and is making alot, it is coolant, you either have a cracked block, or blown headgasket. if it is just a little blue or grey I would not worry about it. also if there is alot of moisture in the air it could just be condensation, sort of like a contrail on an aircraft, the engine compresses the moist air and the water is seperated from the air.

The problem is, the truck is not run enough and the valve seals are going bad. There may be additives for your gas or you can deal with it, or you can tear it apart and replace the seals.

it sounds like your motor is burnig oil. that means that it is geting tired, if you have alot of miles on it then it will burn oil. if not then it could be a burnt valve or maybe even the rings inside the motor.

Check your oil, it could possibly be low, or very nasty, check spark plugs, and if nothing seems out of place, take it int o get fixed
