Gilgamesh didnt build an ark, he went insearch of Utnapishtim, the original Noah, because the gods had bestowed immortality (or longevity) upon him after the great deluge.
But its good that you have pointed the pre-Old Testament stories.
Utnapishtim landed on Mt Araratt, and the Ark was meant not to float but be more of a submarine.
The word for water used in the OT was Tehom, which is acknowledged to come from Tiamat, the primordial chaos water goddess.

Ziusudra built a boat like a submarine. It tossed, rolled and tumbled in the wild water. I really don't think a raft would have made it.
