And I don't ask this in a way that is tempting God, or asking him to perform a miracle so I believe, but for people and situations that need them.

The miracles had a specific purpose. Remember that fleshly Israel had a covenant relationship with God as his people. Thus the miracles established that the new Law of Faith, the new covenant and the new spiritual Israel were ordained as such from God.

Just like an infant is breastfeed, the new infant spiritual Israel had to be demonstrated by miracles that this came from God or it would have remained unaccepted as God's new covenant people.

These miracles also demonstrated what God's kingdom shall do for mankind, thus we have the record provided by the Bible. New present day miracles are thus not needed.

That doesn't mean that God doesn't answer prayers in regard to all sorts of problems.

My friend, when it comes to these questions, I think we need to trust solely in the definition of the word "faith". It is no matter of whether or not the miracle can be proven, or even whether or not it is even possible. Faith should be kept completely seperate from science, and both should be kept completely seperate from philosophy. Whether or not you see these everyday, faith should be about believing in that which you could never fully understand, or even ever know for sure. Truth is not relative, it is concrete: there is an answer. It always just takes a bit of trust.

This question was already asked and answered. (Oh Mr. Man sent me a VERY negative email). My My someone needs a laxative. You are sooooo cranky.

Wanna see a miracle...watch a premie grow to be a big strong athletic super star and then tell me miracles don't happen. Just b/c you don't see them doesn't mean they no longer happen. Perhaps you should pay a visit to hospitals or nursing homes and watch the life of someone who has dedicated their life to Christ.
AND STOP HARRASSING ME. YOU'RE SUCH A MEANIE. SUCH A NAME CALLER. I'm telling my daddy on you. You're a very bad boy. So hostile. I'll pray for you and I still love you. XOXOXO

Miracles are by definition things that are not common, that occur outside of a material explanation. Having said that, I still believe that miracles do occur even today. An excellent read on this is the book "Miracles" by C. S. Lewis. His logic is extraordinary--definitely worth checking out.

first off, you have to suffix everything with a few things,
God hears us when we call to him.
God responds to our prayers.
God is good.
God loves us very very much.
In terms of miracles, i think there are miracles everyday in all ways of life. physically, in the hospital. go talk to a nurse in the OR or ER and they may inspire you with their stories. Emotional, Ive seen people reunited after years of bitter towards each other. Mental, Ive seen people who were just the most distraught who have become very peacful people over time.

So i do think they still happen but just maybe more subtely..

Miracles are in the eye of the beholder. They are all around us. If you're talking about a big show of supernatural power, those too occur. Talk to some missionaries and they'll tell you. It happens around the really dedicated souls who give it all up for Christ.....like the disciples. There must be some connection there.

It's really because they never happened. We are a primal fearful people. Little things we don't understand become miracles or hauntings or demon work. They all have simple explanations.
