The difference is it is God's choice of when we live and when we die. When we have an abortion we are playing God.

Yes, Abortion is a sin. One is supposed to let God decide for them. He know what is best for everyone anyways, and if one is a believer they need to let Him make the decisions for you. A still birth is God's decision. In our eyes it is a bad thing but a baby, who is innocent and pure is not condemned into purgatory, but goes to Heaven. Yes abortion is a sin, however the child is not the sinner and therefore will go to Heaven. But the person who induced the abortion has a lot to make up. When a still birth occurs, it may be for the parents sake, it may be that He needed the child, or anything. God has a reason for everything, nobody knows why. Just because something may be bad on the outside, doesn't mean that it is not truly for good.

Abortion isn't a sin it is the termination of an unwanted pregnancy, this can either be achieved legally and relatively safely with the help of qualified medical practitioners or it can be achieved illegally by back street abortionists, butchers who can injure and maim and kill women as well as terminating their pregnancy.
If Abortion was ever to be criminalised again it still wouldn't stop abortion but it would just move abortion back into the control of back street abortionists once again as things used to be in the brutish old days, we've left that behind let's not return there ever again.

Aled,
Abortion is murder....therefore, it is sin. Your suggestion that God sins because a child is stillborn is ridiculous. God knows exactly how much time each of us has on earth. If a person is killed by a thief you can assert that God caused that event. A teenager that gets drunk and then kills himself and several pedestrians with an automoblile is not God's fault.
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make yo free."

Accidental death is a normal part of this sinful world...but no one purposely killed a stillborn baby. Abortion is the premeditated murder of a pre-born infant. It is murder. Besides, only God can take life (since He created it in the first place - He has a right to do whatever He wants with His own Creation), so laws that were set up for His creation to follow do not apply to Him. God is not beneath His Creation. Humans do not have a right to take other (innocent) human life that God created.

Still births are not an act of God. I believe there have been alot of people that have played a part in abortion that are living in guilt from a bad discission. Let me say that God's love for them still holds. I think alot of emotions play apart in this act and right thinking is not prevalent. We have a just God that want's to forgive us when we do sin. If you are reading this and living with guilt and pain just go to the father and seek his guidance and forgiveness then you can expect to see your child one day in heaven.

Abortion is a sin. It is the free choice of the mother to abort.
Still birth is not the mother's choice. It is an act of nature. God does not control nature as well as our free will.

If it's still inside a woman, it's governed by her free will.
Still births are when the baby is too sick or damaged to survive, but it's too late for the body to have a miscarriage (known as "spontaneous abortion" in medical texts.)
It's just a late miscarriage. Pregnancy is tricky--DNA ensures variability, but it also gets messed up pretty much every time it gets split and put together with somebody else's DNA.
Sometimes, the DNA mistakes are as simple as birthmarks.
Sometimes, you get devastating diseases like progeria.
But genetic variability is essential for a healthy population. Like, take cheetahs. There aren't enough wild ones and even though they mate, they're all too closely related and the bad parts of their DNA get magnified and concentrated.
So some combinations of DNA are so messed up, the fetus doesn't make it out alive.
Nothing personal.

Yes, the premeditated destruction of a human life BY A HUMAN BEING is called murder, and yes, murder is a sin. And the reason it is a sin is that a HUMAN BEING takes upon himself a right that belongs to God alone. God alone has total authority over life and death of His creatures. Therefore God does not sin when He decides it is time for someone to die. Humans sin when they decide to play God and make that decision for someone else.
