TB is short for the disease known as tuberculosis. It is caused by the tubercullin bacillus, it most often occurs as a respiratory infection and is contagious. It can go for years undiagnosed until it becomes active and symptoms drive the person infected to a doctor for treatment, all the while they can pass on the infection. It is now completely curable, tho, resistant strains are developing as a result of people not completing the treatment regimen.

Tuberculosis. Its a disease of the lungs that is highly contagious and can be deadly. I think they found it on that guy from a chest x-ray that he got because of a rib injury. They have to wear those masks because little droplets are released every time someone with TB breathes out so they must be quarintined in specially designed rooms.

Tuberculosis is a bacterial infection, in which the bacteria invade (usually) the lungs, and the body defends against them by encapsulating them in calcareous shells (called tubercles) which can be seen on x-ray. It is treatable with antibiotics, but some strains of the disease are quite resistant and the treatment is long and difficult. The disease is spread by coughing or sneezing of an infected person. It is most prevalent in poverty-stricken areas with poor sanitary practices. Before drugs became availalbe to treat it, it was a major killer; it is still dangerous.
