If anyone is accused of being a pedophile by another to an elder, they must have a witness in order for the Elders to do something about it. Other than that, they might have the accuser meet with the accused person with elders there and have them tell their stories. If the state allows, the Elders don't even have to report it to the authorities but they must make one to the JW offices. How sick is that? They have a database of all these possible pedophiles and do nothing about it. These poor children have no one to turn to because JW's discourage relationships and trust in people outside of the organization.

Would you even join this organization?

Line Dancer, it was on BBC, ABC, CBS, Dateline, NBC, New York Times, Newsweek, and most of all the actual Jehovah's Witnesses publications. How much more proof do you need?

Ilse and papavero, you think just because you say this isn't true that it really isn't? HELLO!! The evidence is right in front of you yet you still deny the truth.

WHy did they say an elder MAY report it? Shouldn't it say Should or MUST? Should the particular law of a certain state be the major factor in whether or not an elder reports it? That shouldn't have even been mentioned, it should have said, 'All accusations should be reported to the proper aurtities regardless if the state laws require it or not. Take your blinders off, children are suffering because of your ignorance and stubborness to accept the hard truths.

Apparently, millions would. And you will probably get many hostile answers to this question. God be with you.

That is not true. JWs take this offense very seriously and investigate this serious matter fully. It is the obligation of the elder to report it to the police when one is accused of molesting a child. Whoever was accused will then be stripped of their position if they have one in the congregation. If they don't they will just be ousted from the congregation but they can still attend meetings but cannot get involved in them. I think JWs hold these values better than Catholics who just cover up for their crimes. I've seen many JWs elders being ousted for their corruption. I'm not saying that all of them are like that but if they find out something about a sister/brother they will take corrective action immediately.

Not every case would be cut and dry.

My father was an elder for years and the one and only pedophile case he was on, back in the early 80's, they did report it to the police.

There my be circumstances that there is a question as to the truth of the matter. Maybe the family(s) involved do not want it reported to the police. The pedophile if unrepentant would still be removed from the congregation, or no longer be allowed to hold any position of responsibility.

I do know of another case, that the pedophile spent time in prison.

If it has been proven, that someone breaks the law, if they do not turn themselves in, it is reported to the police.

Your main concern seems to be that of spreading slander.

The premise of this so-called "question" is demonstrably false, and shamefully dishonest. It is revealing to recognize just how disgraceful the enemies of Jehovah's Witnesses truly are.

Jehovah's Witnesses are disgusted and repulsed by abuse, and are relieved when secular law enforcement officials successfully investigate, prosecute, and punish any criminal who engages in these terrible crimes.

Jehovah's Witnesses fully understand that their role as a religion is in providing comfort to the victim and her family, sharing relevant bible warnings with the congregation and specific potential victims, extolling Christian peaceableness and righteousness, and eventually perhaps in counseling a repentant sinner.

Government workers such as police and prosecutors are generally empowered to pursue criminal matters. Jehovah's Witnesses always work in obedience to secular law and deference to the personal decisions of victims (and their families, where practical). Jehovah's Witness ministers do not investigate criminal matters, leaving such matters to law enforcement authorities.

An unrepentant baptized Jehovah's Witness who is found guilty of a secular crime is likely to be disfellowshipped (or "excommunicated", although Witnesses do not use this latter term). However, a sin against God's supreme authority is clearly a different matter from a sin against secular superior authorities. The standards for criminal conviction and forced religious disassociation will never be identical.

This so-called "question" is almost certainly not sincere, but rather is intended as a slanderous assault on Jehovah's Witnesses. Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

You must think it's your mission in life to discredit anything to do with Jehovah's witnesses. It's like taking a white racist view on the Jewish people. I remember when I first started to come to the kingdom Hall. There was a public talk about how to protect your children, yes, from pedophiles and any other abuse Even the magazines. tell us how to protect our kids. The church I use to go to not only protected the molester, but even told the wife(her child, the victim) she should not divorce her husband, but work with him and the Church.

What are you talking about?

Have you even read those documents that are featured in the web-sites you have quoted?

This quote is in the document:

"In addition to making a report to the branch office, the elders may be required by law to report even uncorroborated or unsubstantiated allegations to the authorities." (We do respect and obey the law.)

That means, we Jehovah's Witnesses cannot permit these peple to contaminate Jehovah's organization.

.No one has immunity in our organization.

Please refrain to invent story!

.I invite everyone to go and read those documents, please.

In response, trinitybombshella:
please reflect on these questions.

How come in the accusation there is mention only of a small part of the document about child abuse?
If that elder knows of alleged crime committed, why does he talk in general, why is not mentioning those who committed the crime?
Also think about this, as an elder he is involved in judicial decision and he knows what is going on, why he does not report these criminals to the authorities instead of having fun on us by the media, he said it himself, "I do not want to belong to this organizazion." So. why does he keep those secrets? Who's holding him now?

.Ciao

they are Christians, through fact they suspect that Jesus Christ is the Messiah and that they compliment the Lord Jesus Christ. they are Christian, era. Now, extremely some situations, you will pay attention many Christians arguing approximately which sect and denomination is the "extra true version" of Christianity, and so, in that attempt, some Christians initiate appearing immature and initiate calling Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Catholics, etc, not Christians. each and each Christian sect holds distinctive traditions and ideology as nicely, so it incredibly is organic that each and each team will experience as though their sect is the "real" and "maximum suitable" one, and for this reason call themselves the "actual Christians." That being stated, for all purposes, Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians in that they suspect that Jesus Christ died for their sins and that they declare to persist along with his teachings. subsequently, they are Christian. it is not substantial what different ideals they could have, the reality that they attempt to persist with Christ, in some way, capacity that they fall interior the Christian classification. Jehovah's Witnesses are familiar for having distinctive ideals. they are an especially "Bible-based" church and yet they nonetheless have unique ideals, especially through fact the Bible could nicely be interpreted in distinctive techniques. working example, maximum Christians have faith that Jesus IS God, besides the fact that Jehovah's Witnesses have not got faith that Jesus is God. they suspect that Jesus and God are 2 separate human beings. Jehovah's Witnesses even have faith that Jesus is the archangel Michael. the way they see it, devil and the Archangel Michael fought interior the international until now, now we are combating with devil, and so Jehovah's Witnesses have faith that God despatched the Archangel Michael, "Jesus" to combat for us as quickly as back. that's only one occasion of ways their concept differs. additionally they trust Judaism, working example, in that they suspect that there is not any such concern as hell. Jehovah's Witnesses have faith that nonbelievers purely disappear into nonexistence as quickly as they die, and that purely people who have been saved will come again to acquire the afterlife. besides, that's purely somewhat, and particular they are nonetheless Christian, regardless of their differences.
