"With darwinism our lives are nothing more than a meaningless chance of mutation with no reason and purpose whatsoever."
"With Darwinism, our lives our reduced to nothing more than a wild animal, with no soul, no spirituality, and no purpose."
Their minds have been SO set that without souls and spirituality we're just nothing - just filthy animals. Why can't they see beyond that? If they could just understand that evolution is a NON-RANDOM process (yes, with random mutations as part of it, but also with four other driving forces) that is not intended to give us purpose, but only explain how animals change and adapt, they wouldn't be so against it and say that God is the only answer.

Jason, I did not make them up. I've been discussing/debating with a Creationist on youtube. Those are his words and typical of many Creationists.

Darwinian evolution is a blind, unconscious, automatic process, yet essentially nonrandom process with no creator needed or implied.

HumanBaby, evolution is responsible for morality. This is evident not only in us, but also in other animals. Look at our cousins - the other primates (e.g., apes; bonobos). They have a certain degree of morality instilled in them which can be seen through their behaviors. Like us, they evolved as a social group.

Well, you can see why evolution is hard for people to accept – they don’t understand it.
“We just dont care about it” – Why not? The theory explains why people need different flu shots every year and saves crops from insect destruction.
“To have children with as many different people as possible, and to dominate the weak.” – This isn’t evolutionary theory, but is a bastardized interpretation of it called naturalistic fallacy. And the theory of evolution no more promotes promiscuity and lust than germ theory promotes getting infectious diseases.
“Evolution contradicts what God states in the Bible.” No, but it does create problems for people who hold a literal view of creationism, which could not possibly occur as the Bible states. Ideas in other parts of the Bible stand on their own. The reason creationists find Genesis so important is because they depend on it, not because other parts of the Bible depend on it.
“Mutation never benefits eukaryotic organisms.” Never? Really? Most mutations are neutral. The harmful mutations do not survive long, and the beneficial mutations survive much longer, so when you consider only surviving mutations, most are beneficial. This is how microevolution can occur in populations, which answers the second part of the question.
“According to evolution theory, there are no "nonrandom" processes.” No, that’s not what the theory says at all. Mutation is random, natural selection is not. Intelligent design says nothing at all about the Darwinian mechanism of evolution. Whether or not evolution lacks power must be decided by looking at evolution. If intelligent design is correct (which it isn't), it can provide an alternative explanation, but it does not automatically falsify other alternatives. But since intelligent design itself is non-falsifiable, there goes any credibility.
“How does one scientifically explain things (through gene adaptations) like feelings, or the ability to choose right from wrong?” These features certainly have selective advantage. For example, feelings or emotions serve to motivate us, and good decisions can absolutely help with survival.
What I don't understand is why evolution is such a threat to beliefs? Many people have no conflict accepting religion and evolution. They are two separate concepts, and have no reason to be pitted against each other. And accepting evolutionary theory does not somehow negate having a purpose in life or automatically make you an atheist, contrary to what some creationists may think.

All the vital information that was meant to be in the Bible is in it, nothing was left out, and it does not mention evolution. And God did not create Adam and Eve at the same time because before he even created Eve he knew what was going to happen (the first sin), quite possibly there was a good reason why he kept Adam alone for a while, so that Adam gets to know God better through their communications. Although if you do believe in evolution you would have to believe in some sort of higher being too because without it evolution would simply be not possible.

Evolution is the engine through which all life continues to subsist and adapt to an ever-changing world; "meaning" is an issue unique to humans alone. Personally, finding out how my car continues to run has no dire consequences on where I am in the grand cosmic scheme of things; understanding how life works and continues to adapt is of no threat to me either. I'm still the same person. I think your question is more akin to why so many people are insecure... but that's a question I'd like to know the answer to, as well.

The question creationists have is not whether it has a purpose for a particular individual, but rather why should there be a need for a purpose at all in a completely materialistic universe? Atheists who say there is no purpose at least are intellectually honest.

Well in one sense I can see where evolution reduces the human condition. If a person wants to believe his/her spirit is specially designed, created in God's image, and that we are designed to join God in heaven, and then is told that humans are just like animals and nothing happens when we die, then that would be discouraging.
If evolution means that humans and animals are by nature equals then what is the meaning of our lives? To procreate? If evolution tells us that we owe our existence to random accidents then can we speak of human dignity, freedom, or the value of life? Does not evolution mean that dignity and righteousness are arbitrary? Life's value becomes only that which we assign to it.

Because the very definition of "purpose" requires an intelligent design of that purpose. Randomness denotes purposelessness. According to evolution theory, there are no "nonrandom" processes. The definition of nonrandom implies design, therefore a designer, so as soon as you admit to "nonrandom processes", you are automatically acceding to intelligent design. You can't get around it.

How does one scientifically explain things (through gene adaptations) like feelings, or the ability to choose right from wrong? When in the evolutionary process did this occur in humans?
Edit......
Let me elaborate further with the human conscience....
What genes are connected with the fact that humans lie and have an ability to violate their own conscience or cause to violate another's?
When did these adaptations occur?
What specific adapatations cause this?

That is such a narrow-minded conclusion to draw. I'm pretty sure you made those quotes up yourself. Not all creationists think like that. I'm a creationist, but I think that each person's purpose in life is different; they have to do what they individually think is right. I could make up quotations about your views on the purpose of life, but I'm better than that.

First, evolution contradicts what God states in the Bible. Secondly, mutation never benefits eukaryotic organisms. Why did God give eukaryotic cells DNA repair systems if mutation were beneficial?
