Don't put BBQ sauce on anything until about the last 10 or 15 min. Otherwise it will burn and not taste right. Chicken breasts should be cooked at 350 for about 45 min. or until the juices run clear.

I usually let it marande the BBQ sauce first for at least 20 minutes. Place the chicken under the broiler about 6" from the heat. Leave the door partly open. Cook about 5 minutes and turn the pieces. Cook skin side up for about 2 minutes. Shift the pan to the lower rack so that the pieces are about 12" from the heat. Continue broiling skin side up with the broiler door partly open about 5 minutes longer. Turn the pieces skin side down and broil 5 minutes longer on the bottom rack. Turn the pieces skin side up and pour the remaining BBQ sauce over all. Place the chicken about 6" from the heat and broil about 2 minutes.

Before, during, and after.

I like to marinate my meats, if possible for a full day, before cooking them. Then I put more on while they're cooking. If you really like the flavor, set some aside and apply it when you serve the chicken (or whatever you're broiling/grilling).

Just don't serve the same marinade you used to marinate the meat, as it contains bacteria from the raw food.

No, b/c the sugar in it will burn. Baste w/ sauce the last 10-15 min of cooking time, but not under a broiler, just in the oven. Pass more sauce at the table.
