A CPR / first aid training course should include some practical training from a CPR / first aid instructor. You could certainly get the basic knowledge etc from a website, same as from a book, but you need someone to show you and help you practice actual CPR on a dummy. You need the practical experience and the feedback from an Instructor to perfect your technique. An online course could not possibly prepare you for a real emergency situation. You can contact your local Red Cross office or do the EFR Care For Children course at a local PADI dive center. Good Luck. :-)

A number of places will offer on-line CPR certification, but there are a couple things you shuold know.

1. Most employers will not accept most of these companies as adequate certification for employment purposes. Generally, they want American Heart Association or American Red Cross (in the US).

2. The American Red Cross offers something called 'Blended Learning' in many of its chapters. BL is mostly taken on-line, then you appear before an instructor to practice the hands-on parts for certification.

There are several sites which offer this. But without hands on they are not efficient. Anyone can read and answer questions. The hands on is very important. Contact your local red cross or American Heart and do it the right way.

Even if you take a class on-line, you'll still have to be tested and certified in person...

You're better off just spending the same amount of time and money on a class...
