Chinese is difficult not because of the grammar but because of the writing systems. I would recommend Japanese over Chinese because Japanese also has basic alphabets. Chinese doesn't have a simple alphabet - just thousands of characters that you have to memorize.

You've already got some romance languages down, plus the semitic tradition...why not try a Slavic language like Russian or Ukrainian? They will drive you nuts but are really interesting and rewarding to learn.

Since you're good at using other alphabets, try Russian. Very few Americans speak Russian and there is a lot of great literature that came out of Russia and the former Soviet Union. There's no reason why you shouldn't try one of the Chinese languages, since they have 3B people, half the world's population. You'll find that Russian, like Hebrew is very phonetic and once you know the sounds of the letters, what you see is usually what you get. I speak four languages, but never had the chutzpah to attack Chinese. Bonne chance!

I feel Mandarin Chinese is spoken via extra folks on the earth than some other language in order that turns out like a well choice. I'd prefer anything particularly exceptional. You have 2 romance languages down so you'll be able to rather determine your method via the others (and humans from western Europe talk more than one languages so that you must be capable to speak). Something like Russian or Chinese or Farsi could supply you an first rate version that are supposed to end up worthy to the therapy you're going to be capable to furnish.

Definately learn Chinese. I loved learning it. It does have thousands of Characters to memorize, but you don't necessarily have to because most books are in pinyin (romanized), anyways. However, I think learning to read is just as fun and not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Definately challenging, though.

I don't think Chinese would be a good one, try Latin. I'm also a frenchie and now I'm trying Latin. I love it!!! It is the base of the romance languages so learning it should be easy
