RE:
does the goodwill really give you money if u donate your clothes?

they dont actuly give you money, but your donations are tax deductable.

before you donate, on a special good will donating paper you will need to write down everything you donate.

while furniture and more expensive and costly items will get you move tax back,

items like clothes will not be as tax deductable.

though getting tax money back is good, you will not get that much back, its more like selling stuff at a yard sale for 10 cents each.

but donating is for the good of people who dont have what you have an should be rewarded by happiness of knowing you helped less fortunate people.

karma plays a roll in this, when you donate somthing good will happen...you might win the lottery!

(please consider for best answer! :) thanks!)

If you want to sell your clothing, try stores like Plato's Closet. Goodwill is a charity-based corporation, and doesn't pay for its donations.

the action word here is Donate. You donate your clothes and they accept them and give you a tax receipt. They dont buy your old clothes. You can sell them at a yard sale.

No they do not give money, but they can give a receipt if you want to write off anything around income tax time.

Consignment stores are the ones that give you money for clothing.

Depends on where you go. If you go to a thrift shop sometimes they give you cash upfront and sometimes they make you come back after 30 days and you can collect off of what they sold. The Salvation Army does not pay any $$. If you are looking to make money I would try e-bay. If not, I would just drop off your items at any drop location.

You get no money. You get a receipt for your donation - then you have to value your own stuff (and the method you used to value it) and it can be reported as a tax deduction on your taxes.

I just give because I want to give. I don't want any money for it. Some places will give you an estimated receipt for taxes. I used to volunteer at a resale store... thats what they did.
