There are so MANY different responses I dont even know where to begin! It is called theodicy which adresses the "problem of evil" and all the different explanations different people have concluded too! One that stands out the most to me, and that will probably be most helpful to you I assume, is the explanation from John Hick. He believes the concept of "soul searching" and that good can be brought out from the reaction to evil. Some obstacles breed strength of character etc. I have done a horrible job even attempting to explain his views and if you want to understand his view it would be best to go research it! Summarizing is not my thing! But regardless the bottom line is that there are many answers to this question! So I advise you to explore this question with research and then come up with your own conclusion

Without evil man would have no choice. Man would be good and most likely Adam would be the only man. He would also be the only person alive today having fellowship with God.
We must assume this, not having the mind of God, that God did not want the praise and worship of someone who had no choice other than to love Him, so evil was created to give man a choice.

Without evil one wouldn't have free will to choose good or bad right or wrong which is a way to show ones love for God. It is an opportunity to choose love not hate. Without choice of the good and evil their is no show of Love and Love is what God wants from us. God is the Supreme Person Also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. One God with many names.

its all metephorical. Everything is.
Evil doesnt exist for animals because they dont have the capacity for free will.
Humans have the ability to willfully do something to a thing or a person. Because of that stories and parables of good and evil were given to make people aware of this so they can make better choices.

According to the bible he did thus he should take full responsibility for all evil. Even for what the devil did because had he not done it, we wouldn't be in this mess today.

Personally i don't think he created anything other than separation amongst us.
