I'm sorry to hear that... do you have anything that you can think of that makes you smile? A song that makes you grin? A joke that makes you laugh? I have found that sometimes the smallest things make the most impact.. look at a beautiful flower, forget everything else just enjoy the subtle smell, watch a fluffy cloud, forget everything else and just feel your self floating along the cloud..... take a deep breath, blow out slowly, release some sadness with it...... Just remember... you cant help how you feel, the medicine will help level you out but its not the cure all..... you still have to feel, good and bad.... just keep reminding yourself that you want to feel better, so go look for something to make you smile... just once even, and its a start to feeling more happiness than sadness... each little piece adds to the building of more positive thoughts. Try not to dwell on ALL of the negatives, remind yourself that this small pleasant thought means its not ALL bad... try to defy the negatives..... look for positives... each one counts... a smile, a sound, a smell, anything to remind you that theres more out there than just the pain!
Good luck, hope it feels better soon!!

I am also on lexapro 10 mg oce a day. It took a while for the lexapro to start working but the results have been amazing for me. Stick with your medicine and you will feel better in a few days.

Its hard to say if depression ever leaves. For some people it does but for me it hasnt but at least I have good support and the medicine to help out.

Do you have therapy? That has been one of my greatest helps since all of this started.

I am in an online group (small group ) and we help each other with support and try to look at things in a positive way. If you would like to look it over send me an email.

Good Luck to you

Hey. Dont worry, I know how you feel. I was put on prozac about a couple months ago and I really really didnt start feeling better until around a month ago. My doctor said it takes a while for the chemicals to work. In the meantime, just hang in there. I know how miserable it can be withdrawing from your friends and everything that you like. But just keep in mind that it wont last for ever! Try listening to music..honesty i helps me so much! Just let it sooth you! Another thing to try is write down how you feel and vent a little. Thats what I did in school when I was having terrible days and It really helped take a load off. Also maybe try going for walks in the evening. The setting sun and the fresh air is relaxing, it helps release endorphans (brain chemicals that make you happy) and it can also make you look better! Its going to be really hard for a while but I promise you'll make it through and have good times again. I had hit rock bottom, but now I can smile and be myself! Dont worry! If you want to talk to someone who knows what its like feel free to email me! Take care:)

I've gone through what you are now. after my husband of 30 yrs. died, I wanted to go with him. My Dr. put me on an anti depressant also. the meds don't work right away, sometimes it takes a month or so to start working. I've been on meds now for a few yrs. but I still get very depressed now and then. What I do is try to keep busy so I don't think so much about all the things that depress me. I've only recently started getting back into the world again. I owe it all to my family & friends. they sometimes had to forse me to do things, but it did help. So try to keep busy, like a hobby, and the meds will take ove as soon as they kick in. God Speed.

By definition we weren't in a despair despite the fact that we have been in a extreme recession. The unemployment price for many who best have a prime university degree is at eight.7% and in case you shouldn't have a prime university degree it's thirteen.eight%. But when you've got a four years school measure it's only four.one million% and the ones with a school schooling are most commonly now not feeling the recession in any respect. If you're a laptop programmer within the massive metropolitan places the unemployment price is zero.zero% and you're making over $one hundred,000 a yr. Of direction you're running your tail off with lengthy hours. If you're unemployed and feature been for over a yr, it must arise to you that you simply ought to be retrained in an career that's hiring. And you must be utilizing the time to get extra schooling at your regional neighborhood school or college. But in case you invested in shares you're nonetheless soreness, particularly in case you invested in financials. If you purchased gold a yr in the past you've misplaced approximately 20% of your fairness and can lose a minimum of one other 10% to twenty% over the following year. Municipal bonds are a horrible funding. Land and housing has been a crisis for any person who purchased after 2002. There is NO secure situation to speculate on the reward time. Even Chinese shares are poised to take a dive. A gigantic dive. Maybe 50% drop. It has been expected that it's going to be secure to speculate via 2015. I have no idea. You might purchase now and keep for a minimum of 10 years earlier than you notice a gift to your investments. Bank of America must partly repair their dividend inside the following year and it's going to have a colossal transfer upwards whilst that's introduced.

keep taking the meds and be patient. it will get better soon. once you start feeling a little better, start doing the things you enjoyed before. don't start big though. start with the little things first. overt time you will find that you will want to do more with more people. in the mean time, talk to a close friend about how you are feeling. they can help keep you company while you are waiting.

MAKE yourself do things with people. you will find that if you continue staying away from friends and family, you will get deeper into the depression. it may be hard, but you have already made the first step to feeling better. it takes lots of strength to ask for help.

What are you doing to heal? I would use EFT.
Medications for depression are NOT cures, but keep taking the medicine.
If medications aren't cures I don't expect you to get better if that is all you're doing.
Even EFT is not a total solution, but be patient, this too will pass.

Talk. To. A. Therapist.
Talk. To. The. Doctor. Who. Gave. You. Drugs.
