Digital Camera and airport?

A friend of mine is taking a plane this Wednesday. Are the X-ray machines still harmful to cameras? In 35mm days some were harmful to film. Now we have memory cards, sensors etc.
Any advice? Thanks!

The Digital Camera will be fine. I do reccomend however, that he keeps it turned off when it goes through the machine.

they don't bother the camera or cards
