why is it that when you tell someone there are 400million stars in the sky, they believe you, but when you tell them a bench is wet, they have to touch it and make sure?

About the 400 million stars, we hear and have seen and have
heard again. So we know for a fact that they are there but,
a wet bench,> In my case I would touch it because if I'm really
tired and its not too wet. I will sit.

Most people don't have the equipment or expertise to count stars. Most people can tell whether a bench is wet or not. Besides, they may want to sit on that bench!

Because they can easily check the truth when you tell them the bench is wet,
But they can't know for sure if your lying about they stars, so they just accept it as the truth.
Me, I wouldn't believe either of them =]

because my friend they can touch the bench and cannot touch the stars. it is like telling a person they r going to get hurt by someone u know and they have to go ahead and see for themselves.

It might just appear to be wet as a result of a shiny clear-coat surface. They might think you're trying to play a prank to get their butts all moist.

I can see lots and lots of stars. The bench might not be wet, it might be too much lacquer.

because we are empirists and we use the senses to find the truth, if we could see all the stars to count them and had the time ect, we would but you no its like that :P
