heater will only blow hot air after you come to a stop and then turn it on.If you turn the switch from the heater position to off you can hear a click like something resetting and then back to heat and it will work but you have to be at a stop to do this.when you start driving it will continue to work. After you shut the truck off you will have to repeat the process.I should also say that the Air conditioner is working the same way.Is there a relay or switch, vacume off or is the control bad and how can i tell which one it is.

It sounds like a vacuum problem, that's why it works when the engine is at idle, when the vacuum is the highest. The blend air motor may be not getting enough vacuum. good luck.

check the vacuum line going into the firewall on the upper passenger side of the firewall. it will be an 1/8" line, this line controls the air distribution. good luck

By not come on, you mean not get hot or not blow air? Two separate issues. One would be a thermostat or low coolant , the other could be several things. Need a bit clearer description, please.
