Following ancient scriptures (not only the Bible), he was annointed during his baptism.

Fundamentally, every person who was taught directly by Jesus held a common belief which was documented, by Edward Gibbon, of a “supernatural union of a man and a God; and this mystic doctrine was adopted with many fanciful improvements by Carpocrates, Basilides, and Valentine... In their eyes, Jesus of Nazareth was a mere mortal, the legitimate son of Joseph and Mary: but he was the best and wisest of the human race, selected as the worthy instrument to restore upon earth the worship of the true and supreme Deity. When he was baptized in the Jordan, the Christ, the first of the aeons, the Son of God himself, descended on Jesus in the form of a dove, to inhabit his mind, and direct his actions during the allotted period of his ministry” ~(Gibbon; The Decline & Fall of the Roman Empire, V.4, P.366).

Now of course, the idea of a "dove" is allegory, but this is suposedly when he came into "The Light." We all have this capability, as we are all from the same Light.

As far as literal inventions... I don't know.
He was a carpenter, so the rumors go. Thus, I am sure he may have built something in his time. However, his life was not about inventions, it was about enlightenment of mind and bringing others to this enlightenment.

Peace and Love

I think you miss understand, Jesus is the Light, he has always been the light, never off always ON! There is no switch to illuminate Him for He is light. His face shines brighter than the sun, He has eyes like fire, His feet are shining like polished brass, He is dressed in radiance [see Revelations, Isaiah, John, the Psalms. On earth He was the light to men that they might come out of darkness and have light, peace, hope, joy, and etc., as well as eternal life in heaven. You however, have a switch, why not accept Jesus as your lord and Savior and be switched on {-:
Jesus invented freedom for all that will accept it, peace that the world doesn't have, a peace that surpasses anything the world knows. Jesus invented the first water turned to the best wine, He went on to invent the blind seeing, the deaf hearing, the lame walking and limping and praising God, all these blind, deaf and crippled from birth. Jesus invented being born a new and having a new mind with the ability to have all wisdom and knowledge as He has.
Jesus invented hope, courage and not fearing death!
I think these surpass the light bulb and the telescope, which are very handy items and I really appreciate them but compared to even peace of mind...there is no comparison, and people lived very happily for hundreds of years without either of them. But none have been happy without what Jesus gave to us.

Must a man invent something to be considered great? Jesus may not have made revolutionary contraptions, but he was a carpenter by trade, so he was still contributing some physical objects to society. Other than that he brought salvation- which I think is pretty significant!
I can't remember him calling himself the Light (he did say the Life though), but if not him, someone else did. By that they are meaning that he brings light (not physical, more symbolic) into a world full of darkness and oppression.

Man can not see spiritually. Even if he had a light bulb or a telescope,he can not see the future. Only God knows that....

God invented man and that was a great invention,he thought at the time.....

Man lives in darkness and Jesus gave the word, the Bible to shine a light on mans mind and transform him to be a light to the nations and the world to tell others about his gifts of freedom.....Jesus was turned on from the beginning...Read Genesis....the word was with God and the word was God.

The only invention I can remotely think of that Christ may have "invented" was a bunch of freaks running around claiming to be following god incarnate. Reminds me of the one part in the movie the "Life of Brian" where Brian is running from the nut cases chasing him and loses his sandal. That scene alone speaks volumes of how "followers of Christ" have been the inventors, not Jesus.

hey Jesus Christ is the Son of guy. i won't think of I even have ever seen everywhere that the Jehovah's Witnesses have ever claimed that Jesus will come back as Michael the Archangel. they have reported that Jesus grow to be Michael earlier he grew to grow to be human. They even element out a pair scriptures that enforces that know-how. they have additionally shown me that there are a number of human beings in the Bible that has dissimilar names; Abraham and Jacob are 2 that are evoked. So why won't be able to Jesus have a pair names? maximum Trinitarians have faith that Jesus is a Trinity. How lots greater a approaches fetched is it to have faith that Jesus has yet another call? I even have study that Jesus will come back as Jesus. That he took the throne in 1914 as Jesus. that he's guiding the Christian congregation as Jesus.

because He wanted Ben Franklin to discover electricity first, and then Edison to actually invent the incandescent lamp. why would He want man to get everything easy, or to think they were stupid?

because Galilleo invented it. again, He didn't want man to think they were stupid.

also, man's salvation is sooooo much more important than what he looks at through a telescope (unless he's eerily watching people...)

inventions of Christ? therapudic mud, class wine, humanity.

where's the switch? Heaven.

He gave man the brain to invent the lightbulb and telescope.

He is such an energy that the bible says He is a consuming fire. He created the sun. Can you imagine an energy greater than the sun?

That is a really bad joke. Christ wasn't sent to Earth to do those things. Those inventions seem kind of insignificant compared to what he was really sent here to do! Why didn't Einstein invent hair gel if he was so smart?
