This is made using rolled fondant. If you don't know how to work w/ fondant, or even what it is, consider a Disney princess cake instead. Fondant is very difficult, and a cake of this level is for the well-experienced person.

Mad Hatter cakes are usually made with fondant over buttercream icing with lots of fondant or sugar paste cutouts and details. If this is the kind you want, it will definitely run you more money than a simple buttercream design. All wedding cakes are priced by the slice in most parts of the country. The beginning price will vary. In CA it seems most things are about $1-3 more than in other regions, so I would figure about $3-5 a slice for more labor. Call around and ask bakers in your area for their fondant cake prices by the slice. Ask if that includes things like sugar paste decorations. Make sure to ask about delivery, set up, deposits, stand rental, etc. too!

You can make them with different width pans. Just use a sharp knife to shape the cake.

My friend made a Mad Hatter cake for my wedding. I didnt want to cut it, it looked awesome!!!!!!

make lairs of the same or different type of cake just make the layers as they go down smaller and since the regular kind of the doughe on thise cakes are more expensive i melted marshmellows and dipped a tooth pick into the food coloring and mixed it into the melted marshmellowas and makes it the same color or try to mix two food colorings together to make the color that you needed becaause there isnt always going to be the same exact color food coloring that you are looking for

Consider making a layer cake (much, much easier!) You can fill the layers with custard and fresh fruit... and frost it with fresh whipped cream, and decorate it with fresh flowers.

Nothing's more beautiful and girly than flowers! :)
