The bible has a story about a rich man who died and was in torment. He was pleading with the poor man, who also died but went to Abraham's bosom, to just dip a finger in the water and touch his tongue with it. But the chasm was too wide between where the rich man was (hell) and where the poor man was.
Hell will not only be torment, everyone who will end up there will know that they refused to believe in the one true God and His son, and that they are there as the consequence of that rejection.

Hell is real place, and it's fire is very real. A minute of having
a flame exposed to an arm would be grievous - can you
imagine a year of your whole body on fire? That's only a
year! We are talking about forever! When a million years go
by you will only be in the beginning of the punishment. You
will only have tasted a drop of what is to come. Oh... what a
terrible thought! Oh reader - flee from the wrath to come.
Open your Bibles and pray that God would have mercy -
before it's to late!

The most common description of hell is that of fire. Here is a list of some of these descriptions from the bible itself:
"fire and Brimstone"
"Flames of Fire"
"Eternal Fire"
"Pits of Darkness"
"Lake of Fire"
"Eternal Fiery Punishment"
These wordings have all been taken out from the precious bible of the Christians...So we can conclude from it that they believe Hell is a place firey grave.

Hell
where the worm dieth not. where the very marrow of your bones of sucked dry by these infernal maggots who seek to gnaw at your flesh. where the very fire of Hades itself courses through your veins. where the very sinnues and ligaments of your carnal body are torn out only to be soaked in vinegar. where you endeth not, where you decaying flesh regenerates into mutilated forms, unrecognizable as a human being. where thoughts of torment haunt you, where you are able to see glory above you, but you cannot enter. where the very fabric of your soul feels as though it is mere shreads. where you know this is only the waiting room for judgement...
I'm guessing it isn't that nice

I sure can't see it as a fun place to go, a place where I would want to go anyways, to me it would be a very hot place to visit, sounds of people crying and that right there would be enough for me.

Depends which one your talking about.
The one I perfer to use is freezing cold, it's a melancholy and depressing place filled with gloomy pessimistic spirits.
Named of which the goddess Hel, who is half alive and half dead.
