I have an uncle that is gay, and I was wondering, is he really is going to go to hell for that? Does it say that in the bible? Also, he says that he can't help it because God made him that way but I don't think that could be true because God wouldn't make someone gay and then send them to hell for it, would he? I'm just a little confused...

Your uncle might always remember having had homosexual feelings, but I think it needs to be made clear that God didn't make him like this. God doesn't want anyone to be gay or a lesbian- to say it without sugar coating it, it's a sin. God doesn't love your uncle any less (and that will never change). But regardless of his love, the fact of the matter is that your uncle is walking in sin and that sin is separating him from God. This means that yes, he is on the path to hell. It sounds so harsh and cruel, but he can change it! Here's a website I was quickly able to find supporting what I'm talking about and giving some Bible verse references:

The Bible does say that homosexuality is a sin. But the Bible also says that lying, cheating, being a drunkard, etc. is a sin. In Romans and Corinthians, Paul says that a person is not able to judge another person. It is God's place alone to judge others because only he knows what is in a man's heart. If a person truly repents and becomes a Christian, his sins will be forgiven, no matter what type of sins they were.

God doesn't make anyone a sinner and then condemn him for it. Sin is a result of Satan, not God. But it is true that different people are more susceptible to different kinds of sin. Paul mentioned his "thorn in the flesh" many times, and although there is debate over what he was talking about, it is apparent that even he struggled with sin. Some people struggle with hypocrisy, vanity, or pride. Those sins are easy to hide from others, but they are still sins. Just because your uncle's sin is one that is apparent to others doesn't make it any worse. God hates all sin equally.

So, you can encourage your uncle to do what he thinks is right and to dedicate himself to God. But in the end only your uncle and God will know what is in his heart, and no one else has the authority to judge him for it. Christians are charged to love everyone, just as Jesus loved the sinners who were shunned by the religious leaders of his time. He spoke honestly with them (told them that they were sinning), but he never condemned them for it. In fact, he reprimanded the pharisees for their failure to show love to the lost.

It's in Romans 1. There are a few steps to the process.

Romans 1 says that there are a few steps to the process:

Verse 18 - suppression of truth

Verse 21 - failure to thank God (for food?)

Verse 22 - claiming to be wise, but foolish

Verse 23 - making images of God that look like humans, birds, animals and reptiles

They worship and serve created things willingly by degrading their bodies with each other.

No, your uncle is not going to hell for being gay. Your uncle was created in God's own image, just like you were -- just like we all are. Homosexuality is not a choice or a lifestyle -- it's simply part of who your uncle is.

Go to www.soulforce.org or www.mccchurch.org to find out more about what the Bible really says, and doesn't say, about homosexuality. Many people will twist the words of scripture, or misinterpret them, but don't listen to them. Your uncle is a beloved child of God.

God wouldn't even allow hell to exist, let alone have anyone go there. Your uncle will not go to hell despite what the gay haters may say.

I'm sorry I can't answer your question like i would like to but i have read (in the bibble) that homosexuality is sin maybe i missuderstood b/c the bibble is complicated and yet maybe what u are saying is true b/c God made him and it's not your uncle's fault to be born gay but maybe God wanted him to resist I don't know, the bibble is so confusing. Just tell your uncle to be a good person b/c just because he's gay doesn't mean he's evil or something like that.

God didn't "make him that way", that's just an excuse homosexuals use to excuse their behavior. It was a conscious choice he made at some point in his life. Homosexuality is just as bad as any other sin; he still has a chance to go to Heaven if he asks forgiveness for his sin and turns from it. If he refuses, then he is willingly turning his back on God, so God will have to turn His back on him. Christ paid the penalty for your uncle's behavior. All your uncle has to do is ask forgiveness for it and follow Christ.

God made man and woman to be 1 flesh not man and man or woman and woman. 1 Corinthians 7:3- The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4- The wife's body does not belong to her alone but to her husband,. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but to his wife.

that confuses me also, people who are psychologically damaged (not gays) but like serial killers- surely christians believe that god designed them, why would he make a mistake?- and then punish the poor soul for it. I believe gay people are born gay, it is not their fault and if God is good then he cant punish them.
