I know that I don't want it on my lower back, or anywhere else on my back or shoulders. I really want it on my foot, but I'm hearing that it's not a good location because it fades. Then the back of the neck isn't really favored either. WHERE DO I GET THIS TATTOO!!! (I want to make sure it can be easily covered as well for work and wedding). Help!

there is no place that is more or less appropriate for a memorial tattoo. i have one on my foot actually and i have not found that it isn't a good place to be tattooed. however you need to be aware that you can not wear shoes or socks for two weeks after getting tattooed. your foot needs to be allowed to heal without restrictions and covering it will not let it heal well. i have heard that foot tattoos need to be touched up more often but that is something i am prepared to deal with. i know quite a few people who have foot tattoos, (tattoo artists included) and they all seem fine. just be sure to get the right artist for you and someone who is talented.

It's a painful experience when someone close to us passes away, and sometimes we are filled with a desire to do something to memorialize that person. A tattoo is a great way to honor someone whom we have lost, and also relieve our own emotional pain. But choosing the right design for a memorial tattoo can be a lot more difficult than choosing one for personal enjoyment.

My first bit of advice would be to wait until you have given yourself time to grieve and mourn your loved one before you make any decision about getting a tattoo. Making such a permanent decision when your emotions are especially high is not a good idea.

A memorial tattoo should reflect the personality and interests of the person you are memorializing. But it also has to be something that you yourself will be proud to wear on your skin.

Make sure its' not somewhere that can hurt you later on in life (like your arm and you want to be a teacher or your leg and you want to be a lawyer, ect.) Tattoos on the foot do fade away a lot quicker, because the sun reaches that area a lot more because of flip flops or just not wearing shoes while outside. The hip is where I got mine. It's covered for work, (and in your case-a wedding) but I can also see it whenever I want.

I am so sorry to hear that... I just had my dog put down in November. But I'm away at school, so I didn't even know what was going on until afterward. She had a tumor also, and her health deteriorated in literally two days. Not being there just killed me. (I'm still not over it.. so don't let anyone make you feel ridiculous!) I definitely am glad for you that you can be with him for his last days! I feel like that is important. I've been considering a memorial tattoo as well, and I've been thinking that a symbol would be nice. Like, you could get a realistic picture of his tag with his name on it. The actual one that he wore, you know, not a generic one. Or a favorite toy with his name under it.. anything that reminds you of him instantly when you see it. Or, if this would work.. I loved my dog's eyes, so I would even consider just a picture of her nose and eyes. These are just some of my own ideas I'm sharing, so I know they may not be for you. But as far as Dusty goes, I really am very sorry.. Trust me on that one. Home isn't the same anymore, but it does get easier, in some strange way. Don't worry.

On the frot of the shoulder blade is cute, and on the face of your shoulder, it can be hidden, witha short or long sleeved shirtor jacket , or i can show with a tank or swimsuit or tube top in sexy clothes like that, and if you're wearing that wouldn't you want it to show anyway? Good Luck! :)

On your left wrist so you can cover it up with a watch in places it's unapproperate.
