y should u get rid of ur expectations, if ur not asking for marathon sex, and tons of money - then yes the little things do count... ur man should bring home roses and make dinner every once in a while, take you out on your first date even though u've been dating for a really long time. He should rub ur back after a long day and remember you on ur birthday. respect urself.

To get rid of it is to denounce your addiction to consumerism. Think of the slave children that made most of the sweet nothings. Also, look at starving children videos made all over the world. Think if you really need such meaningless "stuff".
I would teach the following info above to help her understand that consumerism is highly fueling everything that is hurting this world.

I think that talking about "issues" is very important in a relationship. If you want flowers, can you tell him that you like flowers, or give him an enthusiastic thank you if he sends you some? If he does something that you don't like, tell him. I had this girlfriend that was always late to our dates. I told her about it a couple times, but she would say things like "yeah, I know I'm bad about that." After I told her about it a couple of times, I sort of gave up and decided I could live with it. No one is perfect, but you have to know what factors you "must have" in a relationship, and find a partner that has those necessary requirements, and maybe accept some imperfections.

It's alright to have certain expectations, especially when you're younger, but as you get older...you'll find that they become less and less specific as you go. It is okay though to look at people beyond those expectations, because the love of your life might come into your life unexpectedly. (Sounds a bit like a fortune cookie dunnit?) :)

Some guys just don't do the little things.....like...
Saying you look pretty
Giving you flowers
Kisses or hugs at random times
A phone call just to say Hi
If you love him and you know he loves you, you just have to look past those things. If you want a guy that does those things, keep looking till you find him. But, sometimes they really love you but just don't do those things.
Good Luck to you!

i think if you expect less you will get less. i try to expect things from mine the same way he expects from me. it is not a game there is no winner so try to find a middle ground that you will be happy with.

I'll give what I feel I need to so that she remains happy as long as she's with me... it need not satisfy all her desires
But she'll be happy -- i'll make sure of that.
