America isn't a "Christian" nation. This country was founded upon the belief that this is a country of diversity. In recent years the Christian right has tried to commandeer this country's belief system and make it into a Christian nation. But I don't think with the amount of immigrants and different nationalities and religions that live here, that we can allow that to happen.

No one said the US was strictly a Christian nation. The founding of the nation was for religious freedom, most of them Christian denominations. However, there were several non-Christians that were prominent in the founding of the US and continue in government today. There is a difference between being a non-Christian and being a "hater".

First of all, its not strictly a Christian nation. The fact that we have so many religions here should've told you that. As far as people who hated Christianity on our money, they couldn't have hated it that much, or they wouldn't have allowed the words, "In God We Trust" to be printed or stamped all over it. Do a little research before you ask your questions.

Sorry, but it's impossible to answer a question that begins with a false assumption. The USA is a nation of people who believe that each individual should be able to have whatever religious beliefs he or she wants, without persecution or discrimination. Also, just because a person may not believe in all aspects of a certain religion doesn't mean that he or she "hates" that religion. Get a grip.

Even if the United States were a Christian nation, which is the largest faith in the country but by no means the only one, the people displayed on our money were definitely men of faith. I don't know where you get your information about this, because it is wrong.

Only the Puritans ever thought the U.S. could be a strictly Christian nation, and then only for a short time. Also, most of the founding fathers were Deists, they didn't neccessarily "hate Christianity."

USA is NOT a strictly Christian country. I HATE that other countries think that! There are ALOT of people here that have absolutely no interest in the christian faith. There are plenty of other belief systems people follow or.... not follow....we are free to think as we please which means we can use our minds, experience, and hearts to find our own paths, including in religion. I think its better to forge your own way through spirituality and learn it as an authentic experience rather than subscribing to some pre-scripted religion that adds up to nothing more than a bunch of dusty old rules that have NO room for growth. What doesnt grow dies.
