I have burnt a new CD with XP pro dump, which was saved on my computer hard drive. I verifyied the CD, after starting the windows & inserting the CD in the drive, it auto-runs.

My question is: As I want to re-install XP using this new burnt CD, I want to make sure that will my computer boot up from this CD ?

thanks

Just because it has an Autorun doesn't mean that it is a bootable disk. Your CD/DVD burning software should have an option to make a bootable CD/DVD. A bootable CD/DVD can have an Autorun feature but it isn't necessary. Most Microsoft Windows disk have it so you can start the upgrade process or add components while inside an existing Microsoft Windows operating system.

Put the new CD in the drive and restart the computer and choose to boot from the CD-ROM drive first and if Windows starts the install process then your CD will boot.
