but what I do want to know is why if god is omnipotent omnipresent and all knowing why did he create the tree for eve to eat off of? God knows everything so why would he create eve if he knew she would eat off the tree and cause the down fall of man I just don't understand why would he even create the universe if he knew that every single horrible thing thats happening right now was going to happen...

Ha nice answer proof! Your basically saying a good Christian doesn’t question anything just keeps their mouth shut and believes what their told. I hate people like you. Danielle, I don’t know how to answer you question cause I’m not sure I even believe in God, and really their isn’t an absolutely correct answer for it. Faith isn’t about understanding something completely (otherwise it would be called fact) but about believing it was done for a good purpose. If you believe in God then I’m sure you also believe he must have good intentions for what he does. Most of the stories in the bible are there to teach you how to be a good person; to set an example. Maybe that particular one was in there to warn people about the risks of temptation. We’ll never know for sure until we die. Also, don’t let people like proof make you feel bad or like an atheist (even though there is nothing wrong with being an atheist) just because you have questions. Hope this was helpful.

There are a lot of ways this could be explained/justified. These are the ones I've heard; take your pick:

The simplest is that humans can never understand God and His motives fully; He is just too great for our comprehension.

Another explanation is that God wanted to give us free will. He created the tree and told Adam and Eve not to go near it, but it was still their *choice*; He simply desired that they would obey His command of their own accord. And if you think about it, God's continuing insistence on giving humans free will, no matter how much they abuse it, makes sense even from a human perspective: would you rather have someone talk to you and do you favors because they like you and think you're worth it, or because you're forcing them to?

I hope this helps.

The short answer would be that God obviously allowed Eve to eat of the tree, because he saw sin as a regrettable but necessary part of human development.

Love is not real unless it is freely given, and love cannot be said to have been freely given unless there is a real possibility of rejection. Apparently God wanted humans to love him of their own free will.

Once could also point out that virtue is not really virtue unless one has a choice to do evil, and freely chooses not to. So perhaps mankind has to prove itself in order to be worthy of an eternity in Heaven.

well friend God did not make the tree so she could eat from it it was there because the knowledge of good and evil was in God and there for had to be expressed in creation just as life is in God the tree of life had to be and it was not God that tempted eve now was it but the devil that caused her to lose her godly focus and look to what was Gods and not hers yes God knew it would happen but could not force her to keep the word that would brake His word it was up to Adam and eve to keep things right not God it wasn't His job He rested of His work and gave the land to the man so it is far from Gods fault just cause it was there it was not a temptation to her but because she forgot the word and will of God for something she desired above God herself and the man did the same so man fell of his own accord and then God redeemed man through Jesus it is not Gods fault He did all He could according to His word

We have the ability to choose. Eve did not choose wisely. She gave in to temptation.

The reason God created Eve was to be a companion for Adam.

The tree was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

This is how tricky and deceitful satan is, he deceived Eve into eating of the tree by twisting God's words around. The one to blame for the fall of mankind is satan not God.

The Lord is all-knowing. He wanted Adam to obey, but he gave him the freedom to choose, just as He does us. Without choice, we would be slaves forced to obey. The two trees in the garden represent choice, with blessins for obedience and sad consequences for disobedience. He could have just thrown up his hands, so to speak, and never created us after the garden of Eden. But He already had a plan in motion to overcome sin's effects of that rebellion. The entire bible is the story of how that unfolds.

God just set everything in motion, he does no interfere in the natural motions of the universe or the whims of man. The story of the garden of eden is just a story.
Christianity like all religions are not meant to be taken literally. They offer guidelines to live a good life. Thats it. There is not secret there. If being faithful makes you feel content and happy the religion has served its purpose.

God also gave us free will. Eve didn't have to eat off the tree, but she did because she chose too. We don't have to be killing and raping, and abusing people but we do because God gave us free will and we choose to. He could have plotted out a course for each and every one of us to follow but He didn't. God could have created us as perfect automatons but he didn't. He allowed us to think for ourselves. I think we have abused the privilege. I like to think of life as a test from God, which we are failing miserably at.

God left the tree as a test of free will. We all have free will and we all have temptations. In the garden there was no porn, adultry, gluttony or the like so that particular forbidden fruit was her's to see if she was really worthy for eternity.
For every bad thing that happens good will win out. You just need to stop watching the news; they will glean bad out of good and a crisis out of every bad event!

The Fall of Man wasn't the "downfall" of man. It was the beginning of mortality. Without the "Fall", we wouldn't be here, experiencing life and learning from the many trials we face.

Why did God create the universe even though bad things happen (and will continue to happen)? Because it is the only way that we can learn and grow, gain a physical body, and ultimately become like Him.
