I have a new acquaintance, and she has recently been in the mood for Strawberries and Cream for breakfast.

I was going to serve chilled 1988 Krug Clos du Mesnil Champagne with this, but does anyone have any other suggestions to serve with this at breakfast?
Has to be red or white wine to start the day correctly.
Thanks in advance.

You have it correct, champagne is the way to go. Mimosa or Kir Royale if you want but that would be a waste of the champagne you are serving.

I'd serve a late harvest Reisling or a bottle of Veuve Cliquot Demi-Sec.

If you want to go really sweet an ice wine, tawny port, or a bottle of Sauternes woul ddo the trick.

Cheers.

Wish I could afford to have Krug for breakfast!
Best choice for me - a good quality Moscato d'Asti or Prosecco from Italy - very tasty.

Skip the strawberrys and cream, get a nice 20 year old Tawny port and drink your desert. Save the strawberrys and cream for the bedroom.

Schramsberg makes an excellent demi-sec, that's what I recommend. Or even a Mumms demi-sec. And sparklers are always romantic. The sweetness of the demi-sec will go well with strawberries and cream.
