Then he/she/it would still be a being that exists inside of the universe that couldn't have created the universe. Aliens could have created us. But, that's not the big mystery. We already know a lot about how we came to be on this planet. The big question is what made this planet come to be. Where did the big-bang come from? An extraterrestrial couldn't answer that. Neither can God, by the way.

If the myth of God is based on a visit from an extraterrestrial, that would explain why no-one has had any "real" interaction with God for over 4,000 years. He's dead.

Hey Ray, if God was an alien then you can say that he nuked Sodom and Gomorrah.

Not to come off with an offensive answer, but I've always conseidered that if God did exist, the alein theory was the most logical one.
