Get a job.
Decide if you want to be a father or a deadbeat dad.
Since you're asking I hope you've chosen to be a father.
Buy a book on babes and children.
Be there for the mother of your child, if you have no intention of becoming a big happy family make that clear now.
Go to doctor visits.
WHen baby arrives let him or her melt your heart.
This isn't easy. I got pregnant when we were both 18. We got married, even had another child together. But I as many bad things I could say about my ex , I could never say he was a bad father, he took care of paying the bills so I could be home to take care of them. He was there and interested. My boys wouldn't be the great kids they are today without their dad (they are 10 and 12 now).
Children are a lifeling commitment, I'm 30 and my Mom still worries about me. You helped create a child and now you are responsible for teaching that child right from wrong. How to ride a bike, how to throw a baseball or how to make ants on a log. If you can ask your family for help. It's bad enough having to tell them you got a girl pregnant at 17, at least make it clear to them if you want to take responsibility for the child, they may see you in a different light.

Well all there is, is accepting that you concived a child with whomever you were with. If you cannot accept nothing comes to place. The next thing you will have to accept is supporting the child through that, that means going out there and finding a job, but do not stress because things will get difficult if you stress, remember there are programs out there for young parents to be successful. Just accept what has happened and learn to deal with the respondsibility as an adult now.

I think the question here is what to do now that the girl is having a baby. So, telling him to use condoms is not going to help now. I say marry the girl now so she doesn't have to go through the embarassment of having a baby with no husband. Be as supportive as you can- go to appts, get a good job. Maybe in construction or something? That pays well and you don't need a college degree. Maybe the 2 of you can live together at one of your parents' houses?
Good luck!

if your old enough to do the act then you are old enough to know you are responsible for your actions so take charge and have fun with it.

Stay in school and spend time with the kid, believe me if your really a good daddy no one will have to tell you that you shouldnt be stayin out at all hour, cuz once you see that baby when its born, nothin in the world would make you not want to be with it.
You only get one chance to see your very first child, make sure your a good daddy to it and support it, time to grow up fast, it will be tough but believe me, just seeing how they depend on you and how much they love you is soo great.

Face up to your respondsabilities. Offer to help pay for the expenses of raising the child. Honey it takes two to Tango and now the price needs to be paid. Sign paternity papers so you will have the right to be in that child's life. Just don't think you have to get married that may destroy everyones life and divorce[no matter how badly wanted] is like a death.
Learn this as a lesson.

Be there for your girlfriend, support her in every way possible.

Too young to be a dad = too young to have sex.

Hmmm...you didn't seem to think you were too young to have unprotected sex, now did you? You step up to the plate, and take care of your child and it's mom.
