what about planting a small peace garden or cleaning out a clower bed at a downtown location. Clean a park or a parking lot. What about visiting a rest home and letting the kids come up with a theme and possibly a little project, one good one is something with history maybe a specific historical event, such as a war or the depression, something where they can ask the residents questions about the things they experienced as they were growing up.

I work in a nursing home. I would say the nursing home idea is a great one. maybe they could sing some songs, play a game with the residents, GEE, just talking to them would really lift their spirits. The other day, all the residents in the hall I work on received a card with a hand drawn picture on one side and a note or prayer the child wrote on the other side. You should have heard the comments these people were making. It really brightened up their day. It brought a lot of smiles to their faces. It made me feel good to see how happy these kids made these people for one day. A lot of people in nursing homes do not have many visitors. They can use all the cheering up they can get. Please consider this idea.

If nothing else, pick up trash. Find a church that has had low maintenance, clean it up, do a little small maintenance. There are many possibilities. Also check with your town hall, or county commossion, they might be in need of something like that.
