fresh rectal bleeding and itch is a sign of internal hemmorhoids, not uncommon in those with UC. Ask your doctor for hydrocortisone suppositories, usually just one or two will clear up the problem.

Yes It is known to have this problem.Plus the fact that Colitis causes looseness of the bowel, and the added problem of that leads to anal bleeding and discomfort. I'm not so sure about the burning sensation though.Best to get that checked out. Good Luck!

Go to your doctor soonest. I don't think "anal" bleeding is a result but rectal bleeding coming out from the anus is an indication of a bleeding ulcer in the intestines that if left untreated can cause severe problems. Don't lose time in YR, go to a doctor at once.

UC can cause bleeding in your large colon. Call the GI as soon as you can. For more information, go to the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America website at ccfa.org for more information. I've had Crohns since I was 12 and the support has been awesome.

yes.. Im not sure about the "itching" though........ I should know since I have crohns which is just a differnet form of colitis along w/ my dad and sister. The blood only means you are having a flare-up and u should make sure you are taking ur meds. I get the same thing sometimes except for the itching!

Yep.

The main symptom of active disease is usually diarrhea mixed with blood, of gradual onset. Ulcerative colitis is, however, a systemic disease that affects many parts of the body outside the intestine.

Ulcerative colitis is an intermittent disease, with periods of exacerbated symptoms, and periods that are relatively symptom-free. Although the symptoms of ulcerative colitis can sometimes diminish on their own, the disease usually requires treatment to go into remission.

Hi. I highly suggest you see your GI doc and get blood tested for Celiac Disease. Bleeding and itching are just some of the signs of Celiac Disease. Thankfully, Celiac is a very easily treatable disease, you merely follow the gluten free diet. Its worth looking into, a blood test is basically all you need,a lthough some docs require an endoscopy before they will diagnose you. Be sure your doc is knowledgable, and understands CD. (He should NOT think it's a childhood disease you can outgrow and he should understand you MUST stay on the GLUTEN FREE diet for life if diagnosed.)

The itching could be hemorroids (like you need another issue), but if you are flaring it could come from the tissue you use as well. Try a hyrdrocortisone creme and see if that relieves it. Call your doctor to be sure though.
