You need to look at it from a wide perspective. Is it doing more harm than good. If so it is a sin (or a bad deed or whatever you want to call it). If it is doing more good than harm, thats good.

Remember there are not that many actions which are entirely positive with no harm anywhere, that doesn't mean they are bad. You can not go through life trying to never cause any harm to anyone or anything. The same works the other way around.

Maybe it depends on the type of flirting...and who it is with. If it is a stranger on the street and you pay an exceptionally nice compliment to him and move on,that's ok. He got a smile and isn't expecting anything. If say, it's a co-worker and you do this every day, leading him to believe you really have a thing for him and that there could be a possibility of something more...that's wrong because it could be hurtful, not boosting self-esteem.

I hope it's a good deed, 'cause I do it now and again. ;o)

Although I have to be careful, because I've had some older gents read _much_ more into it than warranted.

It's always nice when it's appreciated for what it is - not an invitation, just an appreciation of someones good qualities.

I think you can find some attractive quality in anyone if you're looking for it.

No sin but a good deed, if he is your husband. I think there is no innocent flirting. You can make an old guy to smile also other ways. : )

It is neither. Harmless flirting is not sin. How do you think people start relationships. And I don't really know how it is a good deed either. It's nice, is the best I can do. God bless you.

Good deed. My husband flirts with old ladies all the time. That whore! You should see him in nursing homes. He's a MENACE.

I think it's fantaz, and I only get mad when they're under 60. Then I have to get all up in his face and make sure they understand that I'll kick their behinds if they so much as CONSIDER getting any of my sweet stuff!

It depends on the situation.

I worked many years in nursing homes, and many of the old guys loved it and apprectated the silly back and forth exchange.

An innocent smile and silly is ok, it is done as a friendship sort of thing.

It depends on the intent. If both of you know nothing will become of it, and are just having a bit of fun, it's probably a good deed.

Bible principles reveal that flirting can be cruel to fellow humans and disrespectful to Jehovah, the Originator of marriage. The Bible’s view of improper flirting is certainly loving and reasonable, as it protects people from injury. Lovers of God will therefore refrain from inappropriate flirting and treat the opposite sex with chasteness and respect.—1 Timothy 2:9, 10; 5:1, 2.
