hey all i am a guy and i have long red hair and i wanted to try somethign new with my hair so i was considering blonde or brown highlights... i have never really done anything too fancy with my hair before so i dont know i was wondering if anyone has ever seen it and what looks better? thanks.

well general people with dark brown hair look good with red highlights, so do the opposite and try some brown highlights.. I think blonde would look way too fake.. good luck!

Highlighting red hair can be tricky if it's not done by a professional. At home applications often leave the blonde pieces looking yellow, giving your hair an over all orange appearance...yuck.
Brown pieces might look good, depending on the tone of your hair.
Best way to find out is book a consultation with a good colorist and keep your eye open for pictures of red heads and bring them with you as a guide.

It depends on how long your hair is. Hair naturally lightens in the summer, so going that way wold look most natural, but if your hair is longer than normal (shoulder length or longer) adding highlights could look a little goofy.

The best highlight for red hair are natural ones. Try sprtzing lemon juice in your hair and letting it dry in the sun, or rinsing your hair with vineagar. If that does nothing for you, get a lightener kit, and try that. Good luck!

black highlights on red har looks way cool...Maybe dark brown that'd look hot 2,Blonde pretty different dont know on that...However a lighter red would look the best

if you went blond it will probably look just lighter red, depending on how deep a red it is now.
Best thing to do is get a free consultation at your local hairdressers and they should know how things will look depending on your complexion and hair shade

try it would look nice, i never saw it before, well actually i saw someone with brown hair, and red highlights, but try it you'll probably look HOT!
