My new mower uses 4 cyle oil.

Check the details on the 4-cycle oil as to viscosity. It's measured on the same scale as your old 30-wt oil, is usually multiviscosity and a little thinner (like 5W-30). Not much different in pollution potential, better quality control and longer-lasting lubrication than the older stuff. Big difference in pollution between 4-cycles, which circulate and reuse oil, and 2-cycles, which burn it as it is injected or mixed with the gas.

WD30 is 4 cycle oil. It is cleaner. The 2 cycle, 2 stroke oil is for adding to gas generally and is more polluting.
