My Brother In Christ:

I had the same issues that you are having right now. What I did was I read the Bible, studied it, stayed in the word of God to try and understand. I grew up in a Christian School 4th through 8th grade and it was good. I went to a public school for high school and things went down hill, I belonged to the world basically. My brother, don't listen to what other people are saying, "God's not real" ect but read and learn for yourself. Don't let the enemy of this world confuse you, prepare for these types of attacks, and that's exactly what you are going through right now, My brother spiritual warfare, I have been there. . This is all coming from one who didn't believe but now does, who didn't love but now does, who hated everything but now tries to show the love of Christ. Try to keep the sins of the flesh under control, try to live by God's word my brother. The more your reading the word the more you will see and understand, ask God and pray that he gives you wisdom to follow and obey what He says.

I do not know you, but I love you my brother, my friend in Christ Jesus. I will pray for you.

I apologize if this offends you,but if you had a pastor that preached repentance, the cross, and salvation through Jesus Christ, this wouldn't be an issue for you.Either a person believes all of the bible,or none of it.There is no Grey area when it comes to the bible.Don't take the advise though of fallible men(such as me or anyone else).Go straight to the source.Which is your knees.Humble yourself before the lord, and ask him to give you direction. That's part of being saved. That's part of believing on him to guide you through your life.Too many times people go the wrong direction to get answers, and end up more confused than they were before.Trust in the lord, and his infallible word.Don't trust in doctrines designed by man because they are fallible.Always remember that the devil is a liar and a murderer, and has been from the beginning. The devil will always instill doubt if you let him.You can't fight what you can't see.Jesus must make intercession for you.

Look God did not say it is easy to follow Him, but to "take up your cross" Have you spoke with a pastor you trust? If not I suggest finding a church that is loving and biblical. Listen all the things you hear the nonbelievers saying is out of ignorance, of course, they say we are the ones who are ignorant. When you choose to follow Christ you have to come to grips with the fact that God is so awesome, so good, and so huge we cannot really wrap our minds around Him as a being. He is the equivocal of infinity. We as humans cannot comprehend infinity. I know this may not help you but the problem with most people is they over think things way too much. It is as simple as turning to God saying I cannot do this on my own and truly give everything over to Him. If you can do that, trust me, He will take the rains and take care of everything else. If you have questions you don't understand talk to a spiritual person you are close to and trust, however, you are going to have to accept that we, like science, do not have all the answers, only God does. I will be keeping you in prayer and do not be swayed by the lies of this world. If you really want to believe the only thing stopping you is you and you wanting to "know it all' or "be in control"

Oh my dear friend.

You can't "think" you're a believer. You either are or you are not. It's not about wanting to believe.

Going to church and reading the bible are superficial things. Not that they don't have merit. They are wonderful things.

But faith is in the heart. You let God in and he dwells there. As horrible as our sinful nature is, he will come to us and dwell there.

Having faith doesn't mean you stop sinning. Anyone who tells you this is a liar.

We are human. That's why the Lord's Prayer says "Lead us not into temptation."

Temptation is everywhere. That is why Jesus tells us to look to our own sin rather than the sins of others. It's a full time job for most of us.

I'm no saint. Yes, even pastors sin. That is why we must listen to what they say then examine it closely. Through prayer and with the Holy Spirit.

There are miracles. You just need to look for them. Teresa of Avila said "Christ has no hands now but yours." He as gone to Heaven. It's up to US to do his work.

What you are going through is not uncommon. At some point in their walk all Christians go through periods of confusion and doubt. Pastors ask for money because the ministry depends on the funding of the members of the church. They shouldn't have to ask but some church members don't give their tithes as they should. Also remember not to put your faith in any human as they will eventually disappoint you in some way. Your faith is supposed to be in Christ and his sacrifice for you. Just keep praying you will find the answers. As for miracles, you may not see them but they happen everyday.

Wow seems to me that the christians have alot to say, but then i guess thats what they like to do, talk and not listen.
I over heared a conversation one time with a preacher and a christian, the christian asked the same question, and he said if you are doubting you are a christian, it means you are one, because satan likes you to doubt,(not my words the pastors). You wont see miracles in this time because people today are greedy, seriously why would god provide a miracle to a greedy and ungreatfull nation?
You know what?if i was you i wouldnt worry about what the pastors are doing, let god deal with them,i would worry to what you are doing. They yell because it makes them feel they are special, what they dont realise is they arent tryin to convert the person they are trying to convert their spirit, and the spirit isnt deaf.
By the way this is coming from someone who isnt a christian and into the occult, i answered it because i dont like seein people confused in what they want to believe, hope you get your answers soon.

Tell you what, I think it's good that you're questioning your faith. I wouldn't throw Christianity out the window though. Just the theology. You may want to take a look at the different schools of thought that lead to the way you're viewing Christianity right now. Pelagianism - it's all about you. Semi-Pelagianism - You & God work together for your salvation. Arminianism - God wants, hopes, wishes for you to come to him, but final decision is up to you. Calvinism - you ain't nothin'. You by nature don't seek out God. You're a sinner, and it's God that must pull you out of the quagmire of doubt, continued sinning, suspicion of other Christians and clergy.

Calvinists depend upon God's grace for their sanctification. They know that if God were to leave them, they would not be able to stand on their own, they would crumple before the ways of the world. Thankfully there is no risk of that happening, we have a promise of His never leaving or forsaking us.

So here's your exhortation: "gird up your loins" and run the race, because it's God who works within you for His glory. He is your house built on the rock. Trusting in yourself is the sand that makes for only a temporary dwelling.

It is sad, but many "good people" are going to go to hell. People that never gave their lives over to God. People that never trusted in Jesus. The bible is not tricky, it is very clear. The only way to Heaven is through the blood of Jesus. I know that sounds harsh, but it is a fact. And think of it this way. A lot of these proclaimed atheists know this. They know what the bible says...And they are choosing to not follow Him. Whose fault is that? It is not like God is giving a pop quiz and all that fail are doomed. He sent His Son, He sent His word to warn the masses. People have the right to chose. I feel bad that so many are going to go to hell. I hope that I and others like me may be able to make them think and that maybe one will turn to Jesus. But it is their choice on where to spend eternity. Just like it is yours. As for the miracles, we see them all the time. The fact that we are live is a miracle. That fact that my son is healthy and growing is a miracle. Just because you are not seeing water into wine, does not mean that Jesus is not working miracles. Keep praying. Keep reading the word. God bless you.

If you don't believe in God you're going to hell, regardless of how good you are.
And the only reason you want to believe is probably because you don't want to go to hell.
Christianity is faith-based, you can't ever rationalize it.

Pastors cheat and Christians preach because they're human and flawed.
But then their hearts aren't right with God and so they're just sinning.
Just like you pray, turn around, and sin.
You aren't any better than them and they aren't any better than you.

And quite honestly, you probably aren't an actual Christian if all you did was go to church.
Go read the Bible and study examples in the New Testament.
That's what it's there for.

you go to Hell for rejecting Christ as Lord and Savior. "nice" or not, though Jesus being Lord means you must live righteously and in a state of repentance

God's will. truthfully, I've not seen a large miracle either. you usually see them at crusades and things. for me, it's just been things defying what we know of medical science (you should be crippled but you're still walking, you should have been dead but you're alive; but not fire reigning down). I think part of it is the time we're in. we live in a time of grace, where God doesn't go around smiting people, as we're all potentially able to come into a relationship with Him.

you shouldn't base your beliefs on what individuals or even groups do. if someone messes up, that's their doing. if a group messes up, that's their doing. no one else's.

why do people go around saying "go to Hell" or "you will go to Hell"? that's their choice. I just don't really feel I need to tell that to people. I just like to clear up misconceptions about concepts (for example, God doesn't say "you're bad; Hell", He has a standard and if you don't cut it, too bad. or Hell exists because God can't have sin in His presense. because you die in sin, and beings have a last state, you stay in sin. God can't change you because you're not His to work with).

Christ has an appointed time to come back. the Holy Spirit is on earth now, just we need to listen to Him more. Christ has been claimed to have made appearances (not actually coming down from Heaven, here like a hologram, as in like spirit) but hasn't actually had His second coming yet.
