Genetics is the science of heredity and variation in living organisms. I do not base my understanding in Genetics. Genetics deals with the aftermath of Creation. There is no problem with genetics. A useful science for investigating Gods creation. You are correct the modern Scientific base is better carried on in the Labs all over the universe. Creation and Genetics work hand in hand.

I believe that the Bible needs to be read on a more symbolic basis, and not taken literally.
I have given this question much thought, and I believe in evolution, as a process of change and growth, slowly over time. Could it be that this is the process used in creation? God and Science are not separate, although many humans, both scientists and creationists, will try to make it so.

I am a Christian and in my opinion it would be silly to base your opinion of genetics on the book of Genesis. Genesis was written as a love poem, filled with powerful symbolism and meaning. It's not a science book it's a spiritual book. I think it's a mistake to think otherwise.

If science were based on the genetics of the old testament, it would'nt be to accurate. Men only recorded the male line of descent - Joe begat Fred, Fred begat Barney and so forth, then to make it more believable, they'd sprinkle a few womens names here and there.

Um...... No. But there is always something called faith.
Faith is when you are thankful that your entire family is murdered.
Faith is something that defys logic.
Faith is what cause people to belive the world is created 6000 years ago, snakes are demons, when we die we go to an alternative dimention called "Hell", and that no matter what happens, thaking to your self or a thick black book will help you.
Faith is another word for ignorence.
Yeah......

you're making the comparable mistake believers do. You wrote: "Genesis 30:37-39 - "Jacob, regardless of the reality that, took clean-shrink back branches from poplar, almond and airplane wood and made white stripes on them by using peeling the bark and exposing the white inner wood of the branches. Then he placed the peeled branches in each and all of the watering troughs, so they may well be quickly away in front of the flocks mutually as they have been given here to drink. mutually as the flocks have been in heat temperature and have been given here to drink, they mated in front of the branches. and that they bore youthful that have been streaked or speckled or reported." the situation in that verse(s) does it rather state the branches made the greater advantageous youthful streaked, speckled or reported? It in basic terms says they have been born that way. in basic terms like indoors the wild, your environment in many circumstances have an surprising factor on your outward seen attraction. As for flocks, it does not say flocks of birds. and you besides might desire to might desire to keep in mind that this grew to grow to be very early in mans written age...words do now no longer translate quickly away. working example, stables then have been in many circumstances concerning markets. now no longer horse barns. i'm now no longer a believer indoors the bible, i'm believer in a solid, greater advantageous powerful being. yet i wish which you're actually no longer intentionally fabricating verses indoors the bible to objective and disuade others, that would desire to be quite undesirable kind in my eyes.

I think you give Genesis too much credit to believe that learned Rabbis wrote it.

It's just you. You have to understand that the ancient primitive mythological book is the absolute 100% truth. Science means nothing to people who believe in fantasy.

Ahh, sorry, no.
That's kind of like still believing that the sun revolves around the Earth.

I look at the Bible as true and authoritative, but not on matters of science. We need to look at what we know from the world around us, and judge the Bible from that point of view.
