Sadly they are your parents, they make the rules. Have you tried discussing this rationally? Are there other factors here we are not being made aware of? Remember to keep your head with your parents, they only want what's best for you and sometimes they will be overly protective in order to ensure you are accounted for. They may eventually see how harsh their punishment was but remember, it's not worth fighting with them about, that will get you nowhere. They should also be proud that you called them when you realized you didn't have a ride home, that's pretty mature. Maybe you need to sit down and have a talk with them. Just remember to keep your head, bite your tongue and remember that you live under their roof right now and they set the rules (crappy, I know, I've been there!)

Good luck

what ever you do, don't tell them they're wrong. arguing will get you further into the hole.
start by doing all the chores. clean the dishes. clean your room. cut the lawn. everything. stay up late doing chores. it might sound exhausting, but after awhile they will come to you and offer a deal about going out. they will do this out of guilt. once they think you have learned your lesson, they will want you to like them again.
