Your body most likely would eject it if you waited long enough. However, you're more likely to get an infection and need antibiotics. Go to a dr and have them dig it out.

It can and will eventually be ejected. I had a gym teacher who stood in front of a glass door when it shattered and got sprayed with glass shards all over her legs. The migrated through the entire leg and popped out the back, bit by bit, years later. The pieces, however, were too numerous and too small to pick out, so they did not damage, other than be annoying once they surfaced.

If it is a large piece, you should really get it removed, to keep the area safer.

Go to the hospital, there is no need to wait to develop an infection.
