If you're looking for a cheep way out, try getting a sugar scrub or exfoliater. Washing with this before you shave anywhere will gently allow ingrown hairs to come through the skin. What ever you do don't pick at them! This can cause them to become infected or inflamed. Also, always use shaving cream when you shave. It will keep you skin hydrated and protected from razor burn and ingrown hairs. Shaving with soap or body wash simply doesn't do the job!

waxing is best.. I'd highly recommend having a professional do it the first few times, pay close attention to their technique before trying it at home. the first time is usually the worst but later waxings are much easier. A few tips for minimizing the pain is to take some aspirin about half an hour before the treatment and rub some ice across the area shortly before waxing to numb it. Nair is "ok" IF you use the right kind. before trying that make certain you use the Nair designed for use in the bikini area and test it on a small area (like the back of your wrist) before trying it on your genitals to make sure you don't have any allergies. Nair and similar products use very harsh chemicals and that skin is very sensitive... i try not to shave that area because shaving leaves stubble in an area prone to a lot of chafing - leading to raw skin and shaving bumps... they can be avoided but i much prefer the results from waxing. it is much smoother, softer and lasts a lot longer. when new hair emerges it is... "new hair".. soft and downy rather than the coarse stubble you get from shaving.

purchase a Emjoi Optima from Sharper Image. It removes hair with tweezing dics that move in opposite direction. Sounds painful but it itsn't. Quick and easy...best used after a shower. Removes hair from the root.

Simply use a pad which has some form of acidity in it after shaving. I've used the pads by Bliss in the past and they work great. it does sting a tiny bit but it clears out the pores ducts where the hair used to be.

You need to use nair or veet. Its what I use and I have the same problem as you do. It works wonders. Plus theres this cream you can get to put on your groan area to keep the irritation away. But i forget what it is called. I get the name to you as soon as possible.
