All world cultures seem to have creation and destruction myths / stories. I'm looking for an appropriate excerpt from the book of revelations where it states when the second coming is near and the end of time. Actually any proper biblic proverb about creation and destruction.

Well, actually, Revelation isnt just about the end, it's also about how God views things from Heaven. It is broken into 7 scenes and requires years and an open mind to properly study, as well as an understanding of apocolyptic writing of that age.

Matthew 24 gives some pretty straight forward things that will happen before the birth pains of the end. But remember that only the Father knows when the time will be. It is not meant for us to know. Also the Matthew 24 passage is also referring to the destruction of the temple in 72 AD. Many prophicies in the Bible mave dual time frames, making it more difficult to know.

Just remember, when Jesus does come back, it will be to judge. It is will not be a left behind style thing, the Bible is clear that it will be a sudden end of world, its too late kind of thing. Paul writes that we should live every day like it's the last days. Maybe that's because for each of us, today may be our last day, and we wont be on our death beds lamenting that we didnt make enough money, or partied enough.

Daniel 2:44 Tells us.."In the days of those kings (while they are ruling) the God of heaven will set up a kingdom (government) that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these other kingdoms, and it will stand to times indefinite.(rev.11:15)then the earth will become filled with the knowledge of Jehovah Isa 11:9....Daniel was given a dream by the King of Babalyon and in the dream the God of heaven made known to hiim what was to occur in the final part of the days..it involves Gods Kingdom...and might not be what you have been tole from your church..if you truly want to know get a new world translation of the holy scriptures and talk to Gods people Jehovahs Witnesses and they will help you to understand from the scriptures what Jehovah purposes to do..

THE REVELATION
OF ST JOHN THE DIVINE
CHAPTER 6
Christ opens the six seals, and John sees the events therein—In the fifth seal he sees the Christian martyrs, and in the sixth the signs of the times.

12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the akings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

this was a footnote:
figs that ripen late, hanging on the tree even into the winter.

Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

With the plain and precious parts put back in with the Urim and Thummim:

1:3 Blessed are they who read and understand the words of this prophecy, and keep the commandments of God; for these shall understand those things which are written therein; for the time of the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

No one knows when the the end will be here, not Jesus or the Angels in Heaven.
Read the Book of Daniel, he prophesied what will absolutely happen at the end times. But the actual time is unknown.

Matt 24:14-31
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

2 Peter 3:10
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Rev 19:11-16
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

The WORD OF GOD - means Jesus Christ as what the Bible clearly says in John 1:1 and John 1:14.

John 1:1
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

"I heard a voice in heaven say that time should be no more."
Your barking up the wrong tree. People know the signs of the times but have no idea how to be free from sin and unforgiveness.
