Hitler's own words in translation:
"The folkish-minded man, in particular, has the sacred duty, each in his own denomination, of making people stop just talking superficially of God's will, and actually fulfil God's will, and not let God's word be desecrated."

"For God's will gave men their form, their essence, and their abilities. Anyone who destroys His work is declaring war on the Lord's creation, the divine will. Therefore, let every man be active, each in his own denomination if you please, and let every man take it as his first and most sacred duty to oppose anyone who in his activity by word or deed steps outside the confines of his religious community and tries to butt into the other.

"Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."

[Adolf Hitler, from "Mein Kampf", translation by Ralph Mannheim.]

Hitler was good at manipulating people. Just because he wrote some words with the word "God" or "will of God" in it doesn't make him a Christian. Posing in front of a Catholic Church doesn't make him a Christian, either. "You will know them by their fruits." Hitler was an evolutionist who was influenced by the writings of Karl Marx. He employed social Darwinism in his destruction of the Jews and other "undesirables". He was absolutely NOT any kind of a Christian.

You certainly put a lot of effort into your question, and i can see that you are passionate about what you believe and you think for yourself. I would not say that all atheists are moralists, the statement is too broad. Some are and some are not. I do not think that a religion is needed for a moral code. My moral code is a mixture between Machiavelli and Epicurus. Machiavelli is of the opinion that the ends justify the means and I can see the sense in that. Epicurus perfected earlier idea of eudaimonia. According to Epicurus pleasure is the ultimate good and if you leave people alone they will come to realize that striving towards the greatest pleasure is the greatest good. In other words Epicurus believed that people won't do things to hurt themselves or others if they are rational and motivated towards pleasure. (it is important to note that Epicurus distinguished between good pleasure and bad pleasure because some pleasurable things bring pain in the long term. So it is not wise to hurt people even if it brings you pleasure in the short term.) There are plenty of moral codes outside established religion and I think you are kind of deluded if you think you need fear to be motivated towards a greater good because pleasure does a better job anyway. As for that whole communist thing, lets not even go there, but in anyway I think it is Jefferson who said that "Churches are as much use as light towers." Your founding fathers never wanted a 'Christian State' but a secular state. Much like the communists did.

Anyone that can take that many human lives without fearing the burning hell that awaits them surely can't believe in God. Sorry brother but Hitler is burning right now. Jesus Christ said if someone slaps you on the one cheek let him slap the other as well. He said keep the commandments which include THOU SHALT NOT KILL as well as commanding his followers to love thier nieghbors. This included all humans which he pointed out in the story of the good Samaritan who picked up the hurt man off the road while others just walked by. What Hitler said he said to convince a bunch of mindless fools to get in line and follow him so he could conquer the world. This was done out of greed and only caring about himself not God. If you want truth I suggest a red letter Bible and listen to Jesus not Hitler.
God Bless

And don't forget...
HITLER: "My feeling as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter." ... "I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so." ... For example, on March 23, 1933, he addressed the Reichstag: "The National Government regards the two Christian confessions as factors essential to the soul of the German people. ...

Yeah, a lot of theists like to attack atheists by using the "Hitler was an atheist" crap.

It's just crap. Sad, considering the value they place on honesty.

Yeah, it's right up there with 'Einstein believed in god' and 'Darwin recanted'. They seem to think lying about their religion will make people think that they are on to something.
