I have origional victorian cornicing and ceiling roses in my house. But all the intricate detail is reduced greatly by what seems to be a build of paint/or something! it how would you go about bringing back the detail again?

It may have to be removed to be refurbished.

There is a thick gel paint stripper that I have seen used.

You paint it on and cover it with saran or a plastic wrap, leave it over night, I think, (the instructions will say). Then the next day you peal it up and it will take thick layers out the deep designs.

This is as much as I know about it , but it looks like the product you need for this job. Good Luck.
