Because then the media would have to admit that we aren't "killing women and children" And the left would have to admit that we are there for a reason

I've been saying that all along.
The liberal media has no mention of the insurgents killed mostly because they are too scared to go where the fighting is and count but on the average, for every American soldier killed there are about 10 insurgents killed and that is a very good number.

I don't see why it matters how many insurgents are getting killed. I would have thought the US would have learnt that lesson after Vietnam. What matters is how effective the various militaries are at operating in their particular relevant field. If they are, then the 'kill counts' should decrease due to there being less opposition to their presence.
In addition its very difficult to know how many of the insurgents have been killed due to the nature of the conflict. ie. if a convoy is ambushed, they dont wait around to count the bodies.

The death from insergents has dropped 50% from last year either because they quit, were captured or were killed off. Not only is the U.S. killing insurgents, but its allies and even other insurgents are killing them.

Because the death of soldiers happen when a remote device explodes... So most are dying in road side bombs that are triggered remotely by unseen ennemies... So no real confrontations happened where they have a chance to make it even...

You go ahead and talk to a family that lost their son and try to comfort them with "well, at least your little Johnny managed to kill 6 mujahedeen before they got him with that bomb" and see how well it goes over.
If you really think kill ratios are something to celebrate, you have the same mentality as that whack nut at Virginia Tech.

The US military "doesn't do body counts", remember? We do, actually; we just keep it secret from the public.

Because....
to be successful our enemy must have no identity.....
I would not believe them any way , just like I think more Americans have been killed then they are telling us......
