I truly don't believe that my God would have a fiery, devil ridden hole to suffer in for all of eternity like the nuns led us to believe(while slapping our hands with a ruler)

Juju, Im 42 years old and have been reading scripture my entire life. I'm well aware of what it states as well as having it drummed into my head for 9 years in Catholic school.

Of course you're not. The idea of hell is only used for controlling people. A place of temporary purging through suffering is more likely. The reason fundamentalists are so keen on the hell idea is that it makes them feel comfortable consigning any rational, thinking christians [ie. those who disagree with them] to hell.

Many Unitarians I've talked to don't actually believe in Hell. There are several Christian denominations that don't put an emphasis on a literal Hell. So you're not the only Christian who holds this belief. I also heard a radio preacher openly scoffing at the idea of Hell a few weeks ago, but I never did figure out which denomination he was representing.

Forget the Nuns, Catholic School and anything else you've learned so far... Go to the source!
God's word (aka the Bible) is very clear on Heaven and Hell and who will go where. We all have a say in where we end up.
It's not God's choice, but our own that will determine our outcome. God gave us all free will and His word even states"I have set before you life and death, blessings and cursing; therefore CHOOSE life, that both you and your decendants may live" Deuteronomy 30:19
We all have a choice, but the fact remains that the Bible is very clear on the fact that there is a Hell and it's our choice whether we go there or not.

So then you believe that all people will go to heaven? And that earthly existence is therefore without meaning? If we are all going to end up in heaven, why didn't God just create us there, and spare us this meaningless charade of suffering? Does He just like to watch people suffer before He brings them into heaven? Or, is the purpose of earthly existence to decide where we will spend eternity - with God or apart from God?? This is what the Christian Church teaches. How can you claim to be Christian while rejecting basic biblical Christian teaching?

IF Jesus and God (which by the way I'm starting to think is just one "person" with identity crisis) are all loving people, why would there be a reason for a heaven and hell? smells something it's the smell of contradictory =D.

If their is no Hell, which I believe really exists, where do all the murders, etc. go. Please answer, cause it's really interesting that you believe in heaven but no hell. Don't get me wrong I believe even murders can repent, but what happens to those that don't???? Seems like you're on your own on this one.

With all due respect, you need to be better acquainted with God's word, the bible, which clearly teaches of a hell.
