I have a 1 1/2 terrier very small 12 pounds and he just started cough this morning can anyone tell me why?he just went to the vet and was fine

He may have kennel cough or he may have another infectious disease or possibly an allergy or something caught in this throat. Only a vet can tell you for sure.

Just because your dog was fine last time he went to the vets does not mean he can't have developed a problem since then!

kennel cough could be pne reason, my dog had this when she was young, i told the vet and he gave her some meds.
if you got your dog from a pet store or had it in a groomers with other dogs, it could be kennel cough

If your dog just went to the vet and received the bordatella vaccination it might be from that. That vaccination is for kennel cough and sometimes when they receive the shot, they'll show symptoms such as coughing. My dog did that and the vet gave him cough medicine (for dogs though).

my dog has allergies and she scratches and sneezes all the time so i bet your dog just has allergies for just a virus but the vet should be able to help you!

Reverse sneezing... my dogs have it. It is usually only in small breeds and I have 3 chihuahuas.
